Seems a great deal! Phoned them and they advised it comes with keyboard and mouse + full Fujitsu on site 12 month warranty. There is also the option to upgrade to Win 7 64bit home premium for approx £25 postage (coupon included).

When I ordered buyit247.com did it me for £379.00 (postage was £9.99) - so if you ring up you should get for £389.99 all in!!

It is a grade2, which means it has been returned by a customer and therefore open box, no problem tho as it comes fully refurbished and tested with full 1 year FS onsite warranty and is as new with all CD's and accessories etc....

You can also extend warranty to: -

1.5 years for £35.00
2 years for £58.00
3 years for £116
3.5 years for £144.53

Currently between approx £500 - £600 elsewhere!

Info on GRADE 2:-

Grade2 is a term we created over half a decade ago to differentiate our refurbished product from others, and with good reason. Our Grade2 products are direct from world-class manufacturers, usually less than 3 months old. 'Refurbished' doesn't do justice to the checks and double-checks we perform on each system. 'Refurbished' doesn't capture the depth and integrity of our testing procedures - designed and implemented by long-standing systems engineers and analysts. Ultimately, 'Refurbished' simply doesn't do justice to our ethos and values; at buyit247.com we strive to ensure that everyone of the systems we process performs, and enjoys exactly the same longevity as its 'brand new' counterpart. So we needed something more, something that reflected the true nature of our products. That necessity led us to describe our product as 'Grade2'.

At buyit247.com, products earn their 'Grade2' label by enduring testing processes we have defined and perfected. These processes ensure the exceptional level of quality our customers demand. It's flattering that other companies have now adopted our phrase; we hope it means as much to them as it does to us...

5 essential facts about Grade2 products from buyit247.com...

1. Grade2 products are functionally identical to their 'brand new' counterparts.

2. Grade2 products originate from leading brand manufacturers.

3. Grade2 products are supplied boxed, tested and complete with essential peripherals and cables.

4. Grade2 products are, almost without exception, products manufactured less than 12 months ago.

5. Grade2 products are provided with warranty, with the option of extending the warranty up to 3 years.

How a product becomes 'Grade2'

Step 1
Manufacturers send their returned products to buyit247.com

Step 2
We diagnose each machine, replacing genuine manufacturers components where necessary

Step 3
Each machine is restored to its 'as new' software state, including operating system and drivers

Step 4
Every machine is re-tested and inspected to ensure it meets our rigorous quality control standards

Step 5
The systems are re-packed, using brand new, manufacturer supplied, packaging where needed, ready for customer delivery.

Yep.

Sure it will play most games as the graphics card alone is around £126 elsewhere!!!

How would this handle photoshop?

As a medium scale PC I mean.

Anyone?
#6
Suspect its going to get roasting in here until OOS.

Very nice spot. Wish I had the cash!

The processor is smoking fast with software that takes advantage of all 4 cores efficiently. Examples would be Photoshop, Vegas, Winrar, Lightwave, Nero etc. The processor will really make short work of previously long processing tasks. Hope this helps

Ta. Seriously thinking of this now. Had been looking for a Dell mega deal from MikeT.

But it's strangely quiet....

should state its open box in title or a the top of post.

What does it mean that the graphics card had a HDTV output? Is this a HDMI connection and will this run 1080?

looks a good deal wonder if the offices are open tomorrow

core 2 quads are newer. check the speed & cache and whichever is higher should be better :-)
#17
Depends, technically Core 2 Quad is a kind of Quad core processor. So yes you could say it is the same.

This machine will handle gaming upto a resolution of 1650 x 1080 (22inch screens and below) Anythin above that and you will start to struggle.

Similar card is £65.50 delivered at Aria and it has excellent performance for that price.

'Quad core' just means any CPU that has 4 cores (whether it be Intel core2quad, i5, i7, or AMD Athon II X4, etc, etc).
(although core2quad's are not true quad core CPUs, simply 2 x core2duo's stuck together, but lets not get technical).

This is a bargain for a near-top end system. Otherwise paying £200 plus for a similarly spec'ed i5 or i7 setup.
The only thing due this spring (Q1 or 2) is arrandale using the PGA-989 socket with the integrated GPU at 32nm so nice and efficient.
Although I would try and get an extended warranty.

409.99 including postage + £25 for win7 upgrade and taking into consideration it's a refurb

still a good price

yes, like nearly all but the very fast systems it may struggle a tiny bit with some of the demanding games like crysis on full settings

its a pretty good deal...i paid about £700 for an i5, win7 retail, dvd, 500gb wd drive, samsung 1.5tb drive, 8gb ddr3 mem, gtx260 graphics, free batman and usb 4gb drive, antec 900-2 case...didnt think the i7 was worth the extra as im not a hardened gamer like some and this will run all games on the highest settings without probs including crysis (like with all systems there is an occasional slowdown as has been well documented, poor programming!)....

not sure how upgradebale this is as id need to see the motherboard, but its got everything you need....good spec processor, decent enough mem, good graphics card, blu ray player too...at some point id stick either more memory in it, assuming you can or upgrade to win7 as this will utilse less resource than vista

to think, in pcworld last month they were selling an acer pc with a similar spec than this pc but in an awful orange alien case for a near eye watering £1500 - way overpriced by almost £1000

I have to support Fujitsu machines at work, don't expect the motherboard to last more than 2 years when the capacitors will die.

You don't know much about Fujitsu's then.

Excellent deal.
This is a very similar but better spec PC (BluRay drive vs DVD-RW) to the Mesh Elite deal previously featured on here from eBuyer but with a £50 saving - even if you pay the full posted price.
Heat added.

The processor is smoking fast with software that takes advantage of all 4 cores efficiently.

Indeed, but of course the next generation is already out: faster, cheaper, and more energy efficient. In fact the mid range i5-750 is significantly faster, especially if only one or two cores are being used. And it should be much easier to upgrade should you feel the need to do so. So I would look out for an i5 based system.

This for me is HOT!

Can i ask for some help please? I need one or two computers for business but my budget is small and im not sure if this is too high a spec for what i need it for. I will just use normal works, exel etc. plus website updates and surfing, emails.

I think windows 7 should be used although i dont need business base (so home editions are fine). Would like the speed to be good as my laptop is sooo slow and ready to biff it. Thinking of spending more on monitor and wirless keybord and nouse (logitech mx3200?) since i will be sitting in front of the screen 8 hours a day.

Is this Fujitsu TOO much for my needs therfore i could spend less with another?

Thanks for any tips. :)

I would say the spec is excessive for your needs, i.e. dedicated graphics, a blu-ray drive and such a large hard drive aren't really going to give you much benefit. You could even say the CPU and memory are excessive, but they will make for a snappy business machine.

You could certainly find cheaper, albeit a slower machine, that would be suitable for your needs. However, if you want to take a break from work to watch a movie or play a game, this would do the job!
#37
Seems a good price for the components. Voted hot.

How noisy is this system ?

No way on earth to tell, If noise is a concern you will need to upgrade parts yourself.

This will come with a stock cpu cooler and around 3 stock fans so you will be able to hear it. If noise is an issue you'll want to replace the cpu cooler, fans, case and possibly HDD so in other words, build it yourself :P
#39
Excellent spec for the price, most computers in this price range will have crappy integrated graphics. Voted hot
