I have been looking to buy this monitor but I can`t see anything on Play.com regarding HDMI connections. Ebuyer have this monitor for £134.99 and according to their website it is a special edition with 2xHDMI and VGA.

I have just read the datasheet from Fujitsu`s website and it says it doesn`t have any HDMI connections.

Does Play.com have a freephone number or customer services email.
#2
Not all of these models have dual hdmi, unless it specifically says so it would be a tad risky imho. the ebuyer one gaurantees it has dual hdmi however.

Actually, the play.com website specifically says only vga. the description given in this post is from somewhere else, so i tend to think this is the standard non-hdmi version of the monitor. - unless someone confirms with play.com

Web site link has the full proper specs http://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/docs/ds_amilo_display-l_3220t.pdf This is what it states (no statement regarding HDMI !!!!):-

Connectivity
Video input 1 x D-SUB
Audio sound output 2 x 1.5 W
Audio signal input 3.5 mm stereo phone jack

Even though it's the same model number, different website state hdmi or do not. Have to check before you buy, so this deal is there.
#5
Anybody know if this baby's goy HDMI like the eBuyer one does????
Please advise!
#6
Cracking deal if it does indeed have HDMI otherwise a monitor with a resolution this high and only VGA is pretty much worthless imho. Text will be blurry and difficult to read as VGA can't handle the precision required.

Edit: If it did have 2 HDMI inputs I'm sure play would be keen to point that out. I'd be tempted to pay the fiver extra from ebuyer and not take the risk.
#7
Doubt it has HDMI judging by it's reviews. Well it's available at LambdaTek for a fiver less.

Please, for the love of God, stop spouting this ********!

Text will NOT, I repeat NOT be blurry. There is a slight improvement in quality when using DVI/HDMI but it is certainly not as severe as this poster wrongly leads you to believe.

The main reason to buy a screen with a full HD resolution would be for a HDMI/DVI slot and HDCP compatibility so that you could more easily connect peripherals like HDMI DVD/Blu-Ray players and games consoles like the PS3 and XBOX and obviously benefit from the enhanced quality these devices offer.

Got this from ebuyer last week for a fiver more. Great monitor. I say spend £5 to be sure you get the special edition dual hdmi version. Plus I don't like play.coms returns policy (not based in England ). Speakers on this mpnitor are crap tho!!
#11
Yep .... I took delivery of mine today from ebuyer : http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154817

It 's actually a 21.5" Monitor, but it definitely is the special edition model with VGA and 2 x HDMI inputs.
As mentioned it's £5 more at ebuyer, but at least you know it's the HDMI model.

Super monitor for the price IMO

true, you do need a half decent vga cable though i think...

my cheap vga cable does come out a little blurry compared to my shielded vga cable.

i hardly notice the difference between vga and dvi though...

That's good to know

Does it support HDCP?
#16
Ummm, I just looked up HDCP, and why on earth would you CHOOSE to have it? It's pretty much copy protection isn't it? I mean I know we're all trying to be law abiding and such, but why would you intentionally buy something that prevents copying? If you want to be good, just don't do it surely, lol.

Problem with that one is it only has a VGA input so while full HD, you don't get the connectivity advantages of HDMI so connecting things like PS3s would have to be through a computer graphics card.

Because you don't have a choice. Most HDMI devices encode the signal and only screens which have an HDCP decoder chip can read the signals from these devices. In laymans terms, you won't be able to connect up your PS3 and start watching Blu-Rays if the screen doesn't support HDCP.

Cannot seem to find any definitive info whether it does or not. No answer to someone else's query on their forums for the last 3 weeks.

I would contact them directly & ask. Make sure to specify that it's the Amilo L 3220T model with the 2x HDMI ports being sold by Play & eBuyer.

Wow, that sucks lol.

Luckily I don't have Blu Ray, nor any need for it. DVD is fine for me, and my 360 will play games on HDMI regardless, so I should be alright. I'm assuming that almost all HDMI based TV's would come with this HDCP then, simply because what use would an HDTV be without it?

Hmm, so looks like the OP has copied this from elsewhere then:

Video input 2 x HDMI, 1 x D-SUB

Cant say if this had HDCP or not but I can say that I am able to play blurays outputted from the hdmi of my laptop to this screen with no problems at all.

Seems ebuyer are the only ones with the 2 hdmi model, It's a major selling point and I cant see any retailer not making a point of stating the fact.

maybe he saw ebuyer then used froogle for a price check? who knows :?

Yep, he's cut n pasted from ebuyer :whistling:

Is that just a PS3 thing as I'm almost definate that with PC's connected to CRT monitors HDCP isnt a problem as I have heard that before and I have tried blu rays and HD DVDs on 3 different CRT monitors no problem.

And the PS3 has a VGA cable available and you can get component to VGA adaptors for like 2 or 3 quid.

That's because the PC does the "decoding" for you. I'm referring to if someone wants to plug directly into the monitor, which I imagine would be quite a few people since it would be pointless having to run your computer to play blu-rays off a PS3.
