Core Duo does exist ( http://www.intel.com/products/processor/coreduo/index.htm?iid=prod_laptopcore+body_coreduo ) and SneakyD is right, thats what this one has.

This laptop doesn't feature the newer C2D chip, it's the older Core Duo

Core Duo does exist and is different to the Core2Duo.

the Core Duo and Core Solo's were a stop gap replacement for the Pentium-M CPU's and were replaced by the Core2Duo.

Biggest difference though is the CoreDuo is only 32-Bit; The Core2duo is 64-bit

They are closer to Pentium-M than Core2's and a fair bit slower. (Still better than a Celeron though )

Laptop is a good deal but title should be edited to reflect the actual cpu included.

This uses the cheapest possible components (see below) and is restricted to 2GB of RAM and seems to have a very low capacity battery unless it ships with the 2nd battery as standard.
Cold as a very cold thing as you still can buy a Vostro 1400 for less than this with a much better spec and buy a Canon All-in-One with the change.
