I think I have very good reason now to hold on buying a new montor, seems the crunch is bringing the prices down unexpectedly, was gonna go for the 24" dell but guess i ll hold fire a little bit longer.
#3
bought this last wk - also quidco
#4
it depends on how long u want to wait patiently, my crt used to stretch and shrink randomly and become real fuzzy if contrast is over 60/70, so it was either going to be the dell 24" for 180, hanton 19" for 75 or this that i found today, but it seemed silly paying £80 for 2" more, as all i use my pc for is surfing or emus / work etc no major stuff.

Found this:-

22 inch widescreen TFT monitors are a great upgrade to a monitor setup, especially if you're still using a 17 inch CRT 4:3 monitors. This Fujitsu Siemens L22-11 22" TFT Monitor is a bargain for £119 from Tesco Direct (and you even get Clubcard points if that's your thing!)

You'll get 1680x1050 pixels of space with this monitor which is plenty for watching 720p videos on your PC. The blacks are good on this monitor although colours may seem pale on first inspection so you may have to adjust the monitor to your preference. One slight downside is that this monitor only takes VGA but there are plenty of cheap connectors to allow you to use your DVI. Apart from that, this is a bargain especially for the pixel real-estate your investing in!

You can not convert a digital DVI signal to VGA using a cable, only DVI-A (Analogue) signal to VGA.
Well thats my understanding so read up first.

It is great - so far but I paid more - It was only delivered on Wednesday (ordered Tuesday) I paid (after quidco etc and £9 off) roughly £112 delivered - with ANOTHER sim
Itr is a really nice monitor and daughter is really pleased, although she says its a bid bright for her bedroom (she only had a 15" before) and this one is really bright and big - soory dont know much about spec etc but she was pleased and it looks great:thumbsup:

I used the £9 code but I have jut noticed there was a £13 code here it is if anyone wants to try it

Ive got the book if anone needs any more information

The low price reflects the lack of a DVI connection, this will make a big difference at 22 inches when compared to a similar monitor running from DVI.
I made the same mistake buying an Asus monitor a few years back without a DVI connection, I upgraded it for one with a DVI port and the difference was amazing.

Alternatively there are lots of posts on here about good value cheese, but they don't have a lot do do with this thread either.
I can put my PC output onto my TV quite easily, but it isn't remotely the same thing, the specs are very different
#39
is there a HDMI port?
