Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N100 Sat Nav PNA 300MHz 64MB Windows Ce Navigon Satnav + European Maps

Outperforming even larger fix installed navigation solutions, The Pocket LOOX N100 Series is the first pocket navigator with the brand new NAVIGON software MobileNavigator 6

That's why it is perfect for any pocket and can be used, whether you are driving, cycling or on foot. A user interface, which is visually very easy to follow, ensures a uniquely ease of use. Either when entering a street, postcode or location or, when listening to the integrated MP3 music player (also compatible with WMA and AAC format), you receive perfect guidance through the menu.

I've had one of these for over 6 months, they're great.

If you log onto the fujitsu siemens website you can download new firmware so that it'll play videos too.

Oh - I'm so tempted to buy this and hack it with memory map for walking.

Having spent nearly £90 on a coat from here yesterday and already having a satnav, I think my powers of persusion will not be sufficient :x

Hot though!!

Thanks guys :)

This was £129.99 few weeks ago.. Very good reviews too.

doesnt have a bluetooth ?

I have had one for almost a year and it's great. I have of course hacked mine (quite easy to do) and installed TCPMP Media player on it, with pluggins to play MPEG4/H.264/AAC, DIVX and flash. It will struggle to play the standard 350MB TV encodes on the net, but I just encode everyone at 320x240@ 450kbits and it looks/runs great.

Memory Map works well too, I was using it with some custom made London night bus maps until the trial ran out (very usually to find out where the nearest night bus home is).

I have one of these and its a nice little unit but although the advert says newest Navigon software and includes European maps the Spanish maps are at least a couple of years out of date. The UK is probably fine but just beware if you want this for using abroad.

Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I cant find the answer anywhere, what countries does it work in i.e. will it work in Europe or the US
#9
it will work anywhere that has satellites but this only comes with maps for uk and europe

edit: american maps will cost you £105 http://www.navigon.com/site/uk/en/maps_services/products/1/sd/1179

Does this unit come with the dash board mount?

I've had the n110 (no idea what the difference between the 110 and 100 is) for about 4 months and love it. Great sat nav, mp3 player and media viewer all in one cute package. The product is discontinued now afaik but still definitely worth getting if anyone is in two minds.

Mine did. As well as an in-car charger.

This is a great product. Got mine from here last year for 119.99 with Google Checkout £10 discount offer running at the time.

It comes with all extras you'd need - dash/windscreen mount, mains charger, in-car charger, even headphones (not great quality but that's not what you're buying it for anyway).

Comes with DVD for western europe. I drove to south of france with it - going round the Periphique in Paris it was a godsend.

Mine did develop a fault whereby it only sporadically located satellites but a quick call to eBuyer later and it was collected by courier the next day and a replacement was with me in 48 hours.

The only extra I've needed was a case - got a digital camera clamshell case from PC World for about £6 that fits perfectly.

I'm not aware of MemoryMaps - can anyone post up a link to a suitable site for details of how to install it?

It comes with the cradle, if you don't want it stuck on a window, it also comes with a self-adhesive plate that you can stick on a "non smooth" surface in your car.

Had this for ages now. Excellent buy!

I paid £149.99 for this unit from Ebuyer about 6 months ago- this is a hot deal. The Navigon software is quirky but it is up there with the best. Route calculations can be painfully slow sometimes, but overall worth £100 IMO.

Cheers.

Do you have to use the pen or will it recognise finger taps like a tomtom?

What's best, this or the TomTom one?
#19
we use our fingers most of the time (sounds ruder than it should), but for inputting addresses etc. the stylus is needed as the letters are smaller than finger tips (on screen keyboard)

please can anyone that has this item tell me about the POI I am used to the tom tom POI but how does the Navigon work and where can you get the POI from please?
#22
POI are pre-loaded, from what I've seen you can't change them.
#23
Can you put WM6 on to this ?

You first need to unlock your GPS:

This thread here has more info about it (although installing is pretty straight forward):
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=71114&whichpage=1
You will need to install Active-Sync on your PC though.

Some have even reporting they can install TomTom software on the device (although I have never tried).

Can you put WM6 on to this ?

No. But TCPMP will play most formats with the right plugins.

I have had this for about 9 months. Came with so much in the box I was surprised.
Just used it for a drive from Cherbourg to an hotel in Paris. Arrived in the evening
rush hour. It was great . Shows you what lane to get in etc. Used it in preference to
built in system in my car( 7 yrs old).
All Sat.Navs will be out of date by the time you get them but , apart from the odd new
road in the country, not much really changes, certainly not in towns.
It also has the ' I-Touch ' thing of dragging maps with your finger.
We tapped in info using finger tips. No problem.
Highly recommended. (and I paid £130 )

Does it speed cameras located on there and can it tell you about traffic problems
#27
the traffic antenna available seperately only works in europe, it does have a few speed cameras on but i wouldn't trust it with my license

Hi there,

Just a quick question, are you lot sure this went for £100 - 120?!?!?

Ive recently been looking into sat navs, more importantly pocket sized sat navs and I was about to buy the Garmin Nuvi 250 (couldnt find anything as small & competant) until I came across the Fujitsu n100 which seems to be ideal for what I need.

Since this deal has expired I have been searching the web, and the cheapest I can find is £230!!!!!

Does anyone know where I could get this for the cheapest amount, or do you know of any other sat navs of similar size / performance??

Many thanks!
