is it usb powered?

only 4200rpm in case anyone was thinking about removing hard drive and using it inside a pc.

but still a great price for an external HDD, hot!

jus did some research it is deffo externaly powered!!

If it says "portable" in the description it normally means no power supply needed, if not then it will probably use a power supply. The largest portable(no power supply) i have seen is 1gb, so the norm at the moment is anything above 1gb will be powerd by a power supply.Note: this could change any time so the best is to check before buying.

Not voting cold but good spot on the spindle speed, Deano, deal-breaker for me & so nearly went for it assuming it would be 7200rpm being a 3.5" drive. Thanks.

What a good way to get rid of those pesky used drives, stick them in an enclousures and sell them for more as externals and no one will ever know!

I wonder how common this practice is? Seems pretty underhanded to me, considerring these drives are sold as new, true the enclosure is new but the drive sure aint, I wonder if that is even legal.

If you were just going to stick it in another enclosure why did you not just buy a 1TB HDD for £36 instead of getting an external for £42.99 that could have came with any old rubbish?

I was upgrading my Wii hard drive and needed an enclosure to put the old hard drive in and sold that as a complete unit :)
