Hey Bristols a beautiful place.

another deal that will get voted cold for all the wrong reasons well i voted hot
#5
Good for you

Actually, I did too

A local charter boat here charges £25 - all that really includes is them driving you around to the various fishing spots and maybe a few drinks/snacks. You have to take your own equipment, buy your bait etc, and you are basically left to it.

So for whats included here, for a beginner i'd say its a good price!

this is an excellent price for a days fishing in the bristol channel, I have done it a few times with another skipper from swansea and it cost a hell of a lot more than this.

When in holiday in Cornwall there was dozens of places offering similar things for a lot cheaper. You could go shark fishing for £50 or a 2 hour mackerel fishing trip for a tenner
#18
What does 2 hour mackerel taste like?
#19
Jellybeans
Hey Bristols a beautiful place.

Bristols are beautiful, especially big ones
#20
Lakeside, It tastes oily just like normal mackerel but takes longer to eat.
#21
Best to take jam sandwiches in case of sea sickness, does not stop you being sick but tastes ok second time.:)

Sounds great
#23
This is a great deal - not to be compared to the rip-off trips offered at holiday resorts to happy campers wearing flip-flops and kiss-me quick hats!

Wrong side of the Bristol Channel for many of us though, but still hot.
#24
woy this sounds so cool, always wanted to try sea fishing, will give my mate a bell and see if he's interested..
#25
The Beautiful waters of the Severn!?
#26
Not that great a deal at all.

Fishing out of Penarth is not at all good for beginners due to massive tides and very coloured water. Forget mackerel and "nice" summer fish. Will be after rays, conger eels and smoothounds.

Would expect to pay £35 for this. Less if mid-week.

Edit:Not taking anything away from the Chara or the skipper. Both first class reputation.
#27
good deal pay a lot more than this for 8 hours off the north wales coast

The Bristol Channel is a fantastic place, and the Avon Gorge has to one of the most interesting places in Britain. The Docks are full of interesting old boats, especially near the museum.

Without wishing to state the obvious, this is from Penarth. The other side of the Bristol Channel. What has the Avon Gorge got to do with this deal? :?

Sounds like a good business idea and a good gift. Done all the time off the coast of the US, why shouldn't we! Maybe more old fishing ports should do this. Not sure about recipes for cooking congers though!

Heat added.

Plenty of charter boats from most ports in the UK...

As mentioned above, Bristol Channel is not great for beginners.
