These are far better quality tHan the £27.99 jacket posted earlier today , its similiar shape to the
Rab alpine microlight jacket

We designed this 100% down and feather padded jacket, the lightest and most compact in the range. Weighing just 280 g, it folds up into the left pocket taking up as little space as possible.

From Decathlon's website:

"100% down and feather filling"
"Filled with 85% down/ 15% feathers (95 g in size L)"
So it's not 100% down?

EDIT.
I see their point - it's not like the cheaper ones that have holofil sleeves and a down/feather torso.

Further reading of the Decathlon page proves more entertaining:

"Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat; we remove their feathers after slaughter. We hold the death certificates for these ducks."
I guess everyone has to have a hobby, but collecting ducks' death certificates? The rest of the world just collect stamps n stuff. The French are weird.

"Care instructions: Wash inside out. Wash alone."
There are some things I prefer to wash alone - but I tend not to put them in the washing machine!

It's because less reputable suppliers gather feathers and down by ripping them off the birds while still alive, which sounds horrific. Decathlon at least are a reputable company.

Not according to their own estimate on this product for warmth (unless it's a mistake ?)

Yeah actually maybe not just a tshirt, I've got a rab microlight 50% more filling and running warm anyway I can easily overheat in mine , hence tee shirt comment

Yeah it's I out of ||||| for warmth but says optimum temp is 0-minus5

Feathers are cheap, heavy, not very insulating (compared to down) and have pointy, stabby bits on them.
Down is fluffy, light, warm and would never stab you.

Free click and collect to store or any Asda store, otherwise £3.50-4 I think

Thanks just ordered the Green one well worth £22.
Wouldn't expect it be any where near as good as my neutrino jacket but should be good under a hard shell for winter hiking.

Down is the soft underlayer beneath the waterproof top layer. As we've already discussed the ducks have already been slaughtered, eaten, and their death certificates stored safely before the down is plucked and stuffed into your new jacket. It's unlikely they were tiny - not much eating on day old ducklings!

Hmm, decent lightweight jacket for the price, so ordered, BUT - sizing appears to be all over the place (check the reviews) - what actual size is a 44 US:M ?, so little idea if it will fit, and Decathlon seem to have had big delivery issues over Xmas - see recent reviews on Decathlon's site, so I have no idea when it will appear.

Best to find stock and try in-store rather than online, I'd suggest.

does anyone know if the sizing is pretty accurate? I am a 14 so was going to order a **** one but they only have the m left so not sure if it will be too small?

Not sure with sizing, in terms of delivery I ordered some shorts (per another deal I posted) and they arrived two days later at the local Asda (30th Dec)

Because it's pretending that only he-men abseiling down ice cliffs and wrestling bears in the rocky mountains would ever need one of their super elite sporting tactical thermal NASA outerwear garments - when in reality a wet day shopping in Manchester justifies their use too.

Central heating is for millennial snowflakes, there's not even a foot of snow on the dog yet.
