Try the nitty gritty nit comb. Just need to use conditioner with it. You'll never need to buy lotion ever again.

You can get the head lice shampoo for free if you go to your local chemist. Just couldn't seem to eradicate them fully with the nitty gritty comb so I got some for my daughter last week from Lloyds. They may ask to see your child's NHS card, though mine didn't.

I had gone to a local Morrisons supermarket chemist and they actually wanted to see evidence of the head lice, told me to catch one and seal in in sellotape! My other half (all knowing and after a heavy sigh...) told me I should have gone to Lloyds...which I then did and they just gave me it. The stuff was very effective..and obviously free :)

Update:
Just went to check what brand etc that I actually received from Lloyds and it was 2 x 50ml bottles of Hedrin 4% Dimeticone Lotion. Boots have this on-line in a 150ml bottle for £11.59

this didn't work for me!!! i used the nitty gritty comb and applied conditioner and then combed and combed and combed!!!! the solution works but doesn't get rid of the eggs stuck on the hair.
