Don't know about it being worth 50 pounds, but have ordered one for Mum-in Law - Thanks!

Aah, just looked this model up - it's by HOOVER.

Definitely worth it!
#3

I love Empire. Never had any problems.
I suspect it is due to the fact I have spent £25000 with them in the last 10 years. No, I haven't added too many zeros :-0

They seem to bend over backwards to help for some reason...

Thanks for that info, I've included it in the title.
I ordered one to put in the loft for when my upstairs hoover conks out. So tempted to order another couple. I'd never have to buy a hoover again!
#7

So people do actually have a hoover for upstairs?

I thought I was crazy for feeling that I need one LOL!

Ain't got anywhere to store one upstairs anyway though!
#10
Sorry but i am new to vacuums, what does Permanent Bag mean?

One bag is supplid and you just empty it when it gets full and then re-use it?
#11
Couldn't Buy using either of my Visa cards. Would not accept the start date. I phoned up and girl said probably because I was a new customer and Empire was not accepting any new customers.

Will not accept start date of my Mastercard
#13
I never put in a start date. Don't put in the start date or an issue number. I usually find this does the trick.
#14
Nope. With Visa card, I tried putting start date back to month and year, I didn't see any blanks. That didn;t work either.
#15
I've just done it with my debit card. try your debit card

I have had an upstairs hoover in my little 2 up 2 down since I had my spine operated on. I have no where to put it either so it just sits behind my door. Not aesthetically pleasing but damned convenient!

Hmmm...should I be hoovering at all...what with the back problem....;-)

Yep thats right, companies have finally realised that people have had enough looking for bags for they're vaccume. There are so many different types for different models - its crazy.

Try it again and DO NOT enter any start date or issue number. I always get my cards rejected when I do but if you leave it blank it usually works.

YUP none of my 4 different cards are been accepted, another PC world type scam???

#27
Doesn't seem to like credit cards, trying using a debit card.

Mine went through when i used my debit card.
#28
you could order 3 of these + something costing more than 3p, then use the £15 off £30 voucher for a grand total of £15!!!
#29
I'm new to the site, how do I add heat to this post?

I've just ordered one, its a perfect stand by. My other hoover is an upright sebo.

Thanks very much, good find!!

Does this company do the 3 month voucher scam like littlewoods?

Or is it safe to use the voucher codes?
#34
Anyone got a confirmation e-mail yet?

No it's not like Littlewoods. With Littlewoods, I placed an order and they ignored the order code and charged my card the full amount.
With Empire, if they don't accept the voucher they will write to you and let you know that they can't place the order and you are welcome to try again with another order code.
That's how it's always been with me anyway.

I have, but I do already have an account with Empire so maybe it's different with new customers.
Make sure you check your spam box too as some of mine end up in there (don't know why!).
