Yet another 'deal' for people who value price above quality. You'll probably look an an Albanian goat farmer in his Sunday best dressed in one of these. Still it'll come in handy if you need a suit for a court appearance.

Someone got out of the wrong side of bed this morning :-p . I know they aren't great quality, but they certainly aren't as rubbish as you are making out. I don't see why anyone would go for a 'proper' suit of £300+... I just can't justify that price, no matter how good the 'quality' is. I'm sure buying 3 of these for less than 1 of those will last me longer :P
#7
I agree that Burton has really lowered its quality in the last few years, and this is no exception, these are by far at most Primark quality.

your better off spending an extra little and getting it from Next.

My cheap suit came from Suits You and has lasted 3 years, and was only £100.
My Best Suit came from French Connection and cost £160..

Why £300+??

I'm not a suit snob myself but i am guessing that your best suit from French Connection for £160 doesn't look that great when compared to a suit in the £300+ bracket. There is a difference between a cheap suit and an expensive suit.
#10
Not that £300 is particulary expensive for a suit though!

Best suit i have ever owned if from Baronjon in watford. £180 for a 3 piece suit (no shoes) tie and shirt. Suit is 100% wool and the rest of it was milan cotton.

Shop around guys

There's a lot of snobbery when it comes to suits. It's true, you get what you pay for..BUT, not everyone NEEDS an expensive suit. My last suit cost just over £250...I thought it was great,I felt like "the man"....then I slowly realised id paid a lot of money for basically a pair of trousers and a part time jacket. I'd only put jacket on in winter...and even then it would be hanging up in car on way to work, the put on for 2 mins while I walked from car to office, theb it would get taken off for the day. The only put back on when I went home...so I quickly realised that expensive suits are really a waste of money. You're better off getting a couple of pairs of good quality trousers instead, at least you wear them all day at work

well said!! I always buy 2 pair trousers per suit.. makes em last a lot longer!
#16
Great price if you want a suit for a wedding or uni ball or whatever as it's the next step up from renting for the occassion. If you're under 20 and only wear these things rarely then the next time you try to put on the suit it probably won't fit anyway..... :|
#17
Also, it might be worth going into the shop and trying one on first to see what fits and what suits your shape, because what is far more important than the price of the suit is how well it fits!
#18
nice, got a few interviews coming up, worth a hit
#19
This is a hot deal.

None are in the slightest bit fashionable, so this is really only useful for people going for a job interview or something (I wouldn't touch it for a wedding/smart dress event).

What it took 5 posts for someone mentioned ideal for a court appearance!!!!

Not dissing the deal, but I agree with you, spend money on good trousers, shirts and a smart jacket!!

Kind of agree. If you need a decent and expensive looking suit for work (or interview) because it's important to be seen in good suit then fair enough..

For those that need a suit for the odd wedding (where everyone is plastered within a couple of hours and their opinion really doesn't matter because it won't affect your career progress) then nothing wrong with that...

Does anyone know if this deal is availble in store too? I really need to try on a suit before buying.

I don't care about labels, as long as it looks good, is 100% wool & fits right.

That depends utterly on how often you wear it. If you only bring out a suit a couple of times a year for weddings and funerals then £300 is a lot to spend. Especially when you have to add another £50 for some shoes, £30 for a white shirt and another £20 for a tie.
Something like this sounds ideal for that once-in-a-lifetime court appearance!

Absolutely true. Reading the title of the post I thought it would be a deal of something. Stick to TM Lewin for now.

I have tried a lot of suits over the years due to having to wear one every day. My younger years saw me worry about the name on the label so i would spend what i now class as to much.

The honest truth is that for me, the best value of suit that i have ever found is from the M&S autograph range. In my opinion thay are of as good a quaility as you will get off a hanger for a fraction of the cost.

I would also like to know this...
#34
Why don't you go instore, try it on and then when you find one that fits order the same size online?
#35
Jesus, some of you lot are hilarious. I've had suits my whole working life, am doing quite well ta very much, and have never spent more than about £120 on a suit.

Thinking you need to spend a fortune otherwise you look like a chav is the stupidest thing I've seen on here. The only people that would notice the difference are other dicks like you that look for it.
#36
ourdave - Absolutely brilliantly put.

I previously owned two suits which were bought for quite a bit at Slater's menswear. I got a Burton suit on sale one day because I figured £75 for a suit was a smashing deal. It fit perfectly, even better than the ones which had been tailored for me believe it or not.

This lead me to buy two other Burton suits, which weren't on sale.

Obviously I don't know the people who are ridiculing this post. But it seems to me that they're the type of people who think they're better than everyone else, wear a suit every day (even when not necessary) and the fact that people can look just as good as they think they look for a fraction of the price **** them off.

HOT!

I'm guessing the guys slating this belong to the designer labels, personalised plates & timepieces brigade.

sod off back to your sinister patek philipe playground, and leave us normal guys to it!

Our govt will soon start giving these Burton suits in benefits. One for every chav on JSA to attend court case for voilence under the influence.
