Just saying it's useless is very unhelpful. In what way is it useless? I'd never have guessed your wife has blood pressure problems by looking at the photo of her on your avatar.

Useless cos it never reads the same twice, that's testing several times in a row, not different days before some wag thinks that. Actually I'm not married to Jessica Simpson believe it or not.

 You are not supposed to get the same reading twice.

Blood pressure goes up and down all day. If you want to test your blood pressure, do it same time every day for one week OR one day a week for 4 weeks at the same time. One high reading means nothing, you have to take the average of a few readings.

IMO if you are under 40 and healthy, there is no point in buying this. Useful if you are already on blood pressure treatment (65% of over 60's).

There is no set result that you should get. It depends on many things like age, weight etc.

As you get older, risk of high blood pressure increases. Unfortunately there are no symptoms of high blood pressure. The longer your blood pressure is too high, it is damaging things like your kidneys (again no symptoms until a late stage of the disease). The same applies to high cholesterol, ther are no symptoms until heart disease develops.

IMO All those over 40 should have a yearly blood test for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and urine sample test. Make an appt with the nurse at your surgery, don't need to see the GP for this.
