Amazing album, all reviews so far have been 9/10 / 10/10, or 4 or 5 stars. It's honestly brilliant.

This album is metal.

FFAF have always been classified as post-hardcore, emo or 'screamo'. All three are much of a muchness, in reality. A quick check reveals this album is regarded as post-hardcore too.

That's coming from someone who is a lapsed fan of their's - there's a place for emo just as there's a place for rap and pop. Every single genre has the potential to be obnoxious but the artists who are talented rise above the mulch.

I'm biased, but I've always thought FFAF were one of the best bands in their chosen genre.

Try the first 4 Metallica albums, All Megadeth albums (Except Risk), Iron Maiden, Motorhead e.t.c

With all due respect FFAF definitely are NOT Metal.

Good deal if you are into this sort of thing though.

Please refrain from commenting until you've heard the album. It's not thrash metal, and it may not be full on heavy metal, but Damned if You Do... and Broken Foundation, I'd argue, are very much metal.

I got a promo of the album last month to review.

It's good enough just a tad over polished (production wise) and the writing is a bit patchy but for this price you can't complain.

Still not as good as "Tales..." imo their finest hour.

Thought Tales was their worst album personally. Still brilliant though.
