i take it victoria beckham will not be taking you up on this deal

Good if you were going to buy something anyway, but not going to convince anyone to buy really.
#4
Good deal, will consider going..have some HEAT

just realised you have to make two seperate trips 20 - 30 Mar then again in May, still if you're planning a purchase and you're hungry. (I could do with some of those ridiculously overpriced, 100% duck down, greatest pillows in the world @ £28 each.)

Two trips, that's just bonkers, with current petrol prices I'd be losing money!

So, can you only eat there once during the offer period. Or could you (if you lived nearby) have all your meals there and then get a sofa for "free"?

1. Plan shopping trip out with family
2. Say in exchange for petrol / few prezzies you will buy them all lunch in Ikea :)
3. Spend a wodge on food / drink, with your petrol / ikea bits paid for whilst your there
4. Go on a second trip with your discount ;)

Can you eat anywhere you like? I quite like the lighting department.

Voted COLD.pointless deal..
You finish up having to drive there TWICE..... once to eat ( who the heck would make a special trip to IKEA just to have a mass produced meal??????????? ), then another trip to recoup your £10 or whatever it was you spent.....

After taking two journeys, time and fuel spent etc., into account...how is this anything but pointless? Cold.cold.cold....
#13
Sorry, a cold vote for me too.

How many people visit an Ikea store twice in quick succession?
#14
this is just plain ridiculous.

and nobody likes meatballs that much to get any sort of decent discount

Maybe for you but if you lived nearby and you were going to buy, say a £300 sofa, your getting £300 worth of free meals for a month so how can this be cold?

Lets get this right everytbody - You eat, you pay the bill - i.e: £20 - You get £20 off your store bill....some people seem to think (maybe because of the OPs misleading title) that you buy a £400 wardrobe and you get £400 worth of free food....

lets all go to the pub its friday

The food in the restaurant is so cheap anyway that you'd barely be saving anything off your bill.
#21
Great if you live near it otherwise not worth it. Would certainly make a trip if it was on at my local Southampton store. Its less than a 10 minute drive and near the city centre so regularly near it anyway!
#22
you'd have to eat a shed load of 50p hotdogs to get a decent discount.

A 'Boro fan with a sense of humour at this stage of the season? Must be because you have offloaded Kris Boyd....

I cant believe the comments on here,, and votes cold, and it shows how people just dont think this through, by voting it cold.

They did this promotion last year, and simply you go to the ikea restaurant, and spend say £30, you then go back to an ikea store 3 weeks later and reedem that £30 off anything in the store. So bascially this is giving you either a FREE MEAL, or FREE MONEY to spend in store. How can anything that you get something for free (ok with a bit of effort) be voted cold..?
i bet if it said buy kilzzone3 for £40 and get thatt£40 of the next call of duty game, it would go through the roof on the hotometer!!!

People vote red hot for a game that is being sold slightly cheaper by one merchant than another, and you still have to spend money to get the thing in the first place, perhaps saving £5 or £10.! In this case the discount is driven by how much YOU spend in the first place, so within reason could be quite a lot perhaps £30!! Wouldnt it be better if people vote based on the money you save, which with this offer could be significantly more than most of the 'hotdeals' on here!

Just a thought!

It might have something to do with the fact that this was posted quite recently...

?????????? Did you read the OP?? You have to SPEND the money on FOOD first...then get the equivalent off the item you buy...unless of course, you are seriously suggesting somebody should go and spend £10 a day for a month eating in IKEA ( plus travel and parking hassle ) ......

In that case, anybody who eats there every day for a month and spends £10 a day on their food would DESERVE it for free...
#33
But Mike... Dont you get it? for any of the deals on here you have to spend to get the deal..
If assasins creed is being sold for £15, and its a great deal, and £10 cheaper than elsewhere.. you still have to SPEND the £15 to buy the product, to get the deal. unless you can find a deal where you walk into a shop and take something of the shelves for free???
Im not sugessting that you can get £300 worth of food, and get a free sofa, but it is quite easy and realistic for 2 people to spend £20 on food in one go.
This offer also applies for sandwiches bought in the restauant too.. so to take it to the extreme, you COULD buy a meal, and get sandwiches for your lunches during the week! therefore being able to claim that value back at a later date, and save money on your lunchbreaks! A double saving!
#34
i think this is worth it, if you regularly visit ikea for a quick meal. Our local ikea is in the city centre so its a regular stop for me and my little boy. Make sure they give you a card with the receipt as when they didnt it at christmas they wouldnt validate one of my receipts without it.
#35
**** curliegirlie, they should have validated it, i got one validated without the card! Are you from Coventry then?
#36
Don't the ikea cafés sell the little bottles of wine and cans of beer... I could very easily buy a mass of those for the summer....

Voted hot op... liking the fact Ikea think people don't eat enough in their cafés as it is to offer this?! Everytime I've been to out local one... the cafés always rammed!
#37
lol why not just buy a hundred hotdogs and then give them away to get the money off your next purchase!
#38
hen.. this offer doesnt apply to the hotdogs, just food bought in the sit down restaurant area.
