8 more movies have been comissioned which makes 24 episodes. But the films are better in film version so this box is nice and have the films next to it.

where did you hear this? They already made 4 movies which have been split up into episodes, and on the back of the dvd sales of these movies have been given a new series of 26 episodes to air next year on comedy central.

not bad i guess, i think i paid £10 each though so a fair bit less.

ive got the 4 movies seperate and im happy to keep it that way - 8 more though eh? thats gonna be quite the boxset when its all over.

btw has anyone seen the comic-con exclusive of futurama dvd set? its in a pretty naff looking bender plastic head, with all 4 series and 4 movies inside, but its just discs in slots, no packaging. and they wanted a lot of money, like $170 i think.

A fair deal, not voting either way. I got this for £14.99 in a WH Smith pricing cock-up many years ago though :D

Was probably SFX. The episodes you mention are the 8 films split up, just as the previous 4 were. Good news is the series has more than 100 episodes which means syndication and the likelyhood of plenty more to come.

It's an amazing set, haven't found the extended episodes that interesting really but the main series is excellent.

Price is okay, but has been cheaper in the past.

I'm sorry but that is not true, there is no '8 films' due to be released. The episodes that are planned for next year are not films that have been split up, they are 26 brand new half hour (with breaks) episodes made directly for comedy central.

Just look at the official press release here:

Actually I can't till i get home, vicious filter system here at work :S

I often get updated as it happens for things like this by a friend who has a much easier job than me and after the last film came out (aroundabouts) he sent me a link and news much the way i presented it here. Im not in a position to argue the merit of it. Either way i'd be happy with the outcome. I'll check the link later, thanks.
