Build your own gaming PC is always offered up as advice and it is good advice if you are capable of doing it but for those of us who are not then where would you suggest we look for a good quality gaming PC that can be updated so it can keep up with future games?

You ARE capable. Anyone is. Much easier nowadays than it used to be. I have no experience building and built a beast of a rig with very little info. Its honestly a doddle. Just stick a post up on a forum and ask if the components will work together or recommendations and go from there

If you can't build a pc then you can't play a game. It's unbelievably easy. Partspicker does the hardest job

trust me building a pc is easy if you can plug something in you can build a pc just take your time and look at guides also if you want a pre built go for reputable companys not amazon or eBay builds for example scan, pc specialist or something along those lines would be better

why pay for a pc with junk parts and just replace them? you might as well just get good parts and the Psu is one of the most important parts not to cheap out on

lol it's all part of the learning and for me this rig is good enough for what I need for now
I will upgrade as I go along as its fun for me. I allways find these snotty comments by guys who spend every second on these forums.

problem is.

The graphics really really suck. Upgrade that, and your need a new PSU. Then you have an expensive, ugly, loud, hot machine with a not so great CPU that you cant overclock due to your terrible motherboard.

your comparing this to a top of the line machine. I have a PS4 for that. I just want this for dayz. I don't need a monster PC so this is a good mid range option that has potential

Here's a tip stop taking offence when people who obviously have knowledge about the area give some sound advise which would benefit you financially. That system isnt anywhere near midrange its pretty poor. When looking for a decent buidl there are a few rules which the majority of people will look at 1 a good motherboard 2 a good PSU 3 A good case. Follow those rules and you will be able to upgrade to for at least the next two years. So when you look at this pc with poor motherboard, rubbish PSU and possibly average case, people are going to slate it because it is poor. In a very short space of time you will need to upgrade that graphics card and the cheapest for a midrange system would be a 7850 second hand at around £70. Youll also have a bottlneck with that processor so your looking at minimum £55 for a secondhand midrange fx 6300. Thats another £130 and thats not even taking into consideration the limit your motherboard or psu may cause.

Not trying to offend you but when people are actaully trying to help and you're throwing it back in their face as thoguh its a dig at you then people will be slightly tetchy

No-one is being snotty, they are giving you good advice. Here is a quote from one of the Amazon reviews;

However throw DayZ at it and you will witness a huge drop in framerate (on medium settings).

I'm 99% sure that you will not have fun upgrading as you go with this machine, another Amazon reviewer wrote;

after several months of use I decided to upgrade the graphics card - be warned, if you're thinking of upgrading then buy a new PSU as the PSU supplied is quite cheap and does not deliver the 500W it promises.

Ps4 is very far from top of the line machine, Sony would like people to think otherwise, somehow they appear to be managing it.

Madness isnt it

I wouldnt really say a PS4 was a match for a mid-range machine tbh, not when you have 1440p and 4K coming along

I would say this deal would be aa low range

Exactly, I know they always hype their machines, but this is ridiculous. GDDR5 on a GPU= good, so in some respect it's not too bad, as a shared pool though it will very likely be to the systems detriment (high latency for main RAM). The CPU, best not even mention that. I'm very suprised they have the audacity to brag "with 8 core CPU". Very weak CPU, not to mention not all cores are available (or RAM).

I know this could appear as fan boy antics, but it's not. I have no allegiance other than to my wallet. I'm a gamer (I'm sad) and I love games. I have owned a lot of systems over the years (only one Xbox, which died - suprise, suprise, but also a dead PS3).

You are easy to criticise others but your own attitude has stunk throughout this thread. People have been helpful, you were too busy lambasting them for it due to your own limited knowledge

For the record the one you have bought is ok but not great...not by a long shot. You would have been better building as said. There are a thousand posts on AVForums alone which would have helped you. IMHO send it back and take your time, dont rush into these things without getting some knowledge first

You are also going to struggle with Win 8.1 as its clear you dont know as much as you think about them. 8.1 has a lot of compatibility issues with games and it can be a PITA at times, though I myself run 8.1 most will stick to 7. Remember to try compatibility mode first. You'll have more problems with Origin than Steam though (in my experience)
