Note that it may require some manual BIOS configuration to get it running stably.

i've been umming and emming about whether to get these for my i5 build.
ram prices are very high at the moment but are rumoured (according to hexus) to be dropping for xmas.
these http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/481575/g-skill-ripjaw-4gb-ddr3-2000mhz-kit were 8 quid cheaper 2 months ago.

of thread slightly, does anyone know if these http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158372?gclid=CO-DzevfoZ4CFYIA4wodKQiZkQ will work on a p55 (i5) motherboard

They are compatible but it's a triple channel kit and the LGA1156 is dual channel so whilst it may work it won't be optimal.
For £179.17 delivered you can get 8GB (4x2GB) of Geil PC3-17000 2,133MHz 9-9-9-28 from OCUK.

thanks agharta. i was only gonna use 2 of the corsair ones in dual if that makes a difference (if you see what i mean).
i was a bit unsure about the geil as a) they are oem and b) from overclockers who don't have the best of reps. they were also on offer last week for 10 quid less.

Check RL Supplies, Watford, they have G.Skill 4GB 2000Mhz for £83

OCUK often have excellent RAM deals so even if it’s gone up since last week it may still be a good price; I don’t know as I don’t track the price of high end RAM as it doesn’t interest me. They had 12GB (6x2) of OCZ platinum DDR3 1,333 for £98 about 6 weeks ago; I nearly bought 3 sets and wish I had looking at current prices.

You can hit 4GHz with any Core i5/i7 using DDR3 1600. Are you aiming to go higher?
This G.Skill is 1600 CAS 7 which typically means it should over-clock well at CAS 9. This looks a good deal for high end Over-clockers on a budget.

Firefox told me that the site is untrusted when I went to checkout which I've never had before.
