I've been after one of these for a while. Went to order one but they think that Aberdeenshire is in the Scottish islands and want to charge me a £9.99 surcharge. Not such a good deal if you live in Aberdeenshire
#10
lol - thats silly, i would get right on the phone to them!
#11
I was checking these out on savastore yesterday - it appears they have just added the free delivery! I want one of these too, but I'm not paying those Norther Irish surcharges!

Good spot Edi!
#12

I order the USB tree at about 15:00 today, and got a dispatch email already saying will be delivered 17th Nov via city link... surely sending by next day courier would cost more than the item is worth LOL
#15
Aww. I don't get mine till the 20th! LOL

If you go bottom right hand corner you can change the delivery to standard, then you get it for free. I have bought a few things through these guys. Not to often you get a mainland company doing free P&P to Norn Iron. Great stuff......

TY for this.

thegaffer1 - read the T&Cs on the site - there is a NI surcharge which is added on after your order is placed. I'll PM you this info too. The charge on my last order was £10 - but I was expecting this as it was a large order, and I had figured it in anyway.

There is a 3 pack of similar items at the following, not sure if the postage to outlying areas is any better.

Got mine today and its broken

£4.50 for a little tacky looking plastic tree??? you guys are nuts for anything that plugs into a usb port.

i bet you wouldn't have bought it if it plugged into a normal plug socket.

Indeed, this isnt even USB really, all it's doing is leaching of the USB's power (5v up to 500mA). This might even cause problems as its extremely unlikely to comply to standards -- particuarly if your pluging it into a USB Hub (monitor, keyboard etc).

Essentially, any USB device automatically alloted 100mA, it may request more from the host controller in steps of 100mA up to 500ma (so a standard compliant hub can only support 4 other devices without external power) -- most PC's ignore this though, so these things get away with no real USB chips etc on board and just draws the power --- behaviour with any PC is undefined, but more importantly if it draws too much from the hub, other devices may stop functioning etc. (on the same USB port, as the host controller should be hardware limited to 500mA)

 its a tree that lights up did we realy need this pointless info???

depends if you've ever sat there trying to work out why your mouse is working intermittantly or been hit by RMA postage.

standards compliance is always important, and you should at least be aware your buying "faulty-at-design" goods :)
