Gaggia make pretty much the best home use espresso machines that you can buy. I have been using one of their Classic machines for a few years at home and can't imagine life without my perfect crema espressos!

I have just been looking for a similar machine for my office and spotted this on the House of Fraser site. This is easily the cheapest around (cheaper than the Italian import versions). I know it's a lot of money for a coffee maker, but if you are reading this then you probably already know that it's worth it (edit: and if you are reading this and clicking cold then you probably weren't in the market for something like this anyway - so why bother?)

Edit: If you want the Brushed Steel Classic I've just seen it for £199 here (http://www.maturionline.co.uk/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=556&gclid=CIrw04HBtJECFQNFMAodU3PAOQ)

Ciao!

A better deal may be:

A selected range of Nearly New machines are available for sale at attractive prices. All machines are checked thoroughly and come with a 12 month warranty.

http://www.homewares.co.uk/ - Click Machines then click Nearly New Machines at bottom.

I bought one and it was like new but cost half price.

If you want a better machine:

Hmmmm, recon Classic is same price as brand new, and the Baby is the older model and only £22 cheaper. Worth watching though - thanks!

If you are really serious about decent coffee it is worth investing in the Delonghi EAM3500. Bean to cup espresso or cappuccino at the touch of one button.
Best current price £499 at Amazon, but worth every penny.

Thanks termite - I will probably stick with what I know. I'm a little bit anal about my coffee and spent as much on my burr grinder as my espresso machine - I like the 'hands on' feel of the semi-automatic machines such as the Gaggia rather than push a button and wait bean-to-cup's.
I am currently seriously considering bringing my Gaggia Classic into my office and getting an Ascaso for home. Cheers - Nick

Why wait?

It's nice that you and your colleagues have got time to waste.

As I thought, you're the sort that prefers self abuse.
