Galaxy Counters - Pieces of pure chocolate pleasure...

I have looked on ASDA online and cannot find them... I have even looked on the Mars and Galaxy websites for a photo image and there is no mention of them and I would be inclined to believe I dreamt the whole thing if it was not for the fact that I am sat eating a bag of them right now!!!!

I found them near the easter egg isle at ASDA Monks Cross (York)

apparently these are back by popular demand although I cannot remember them being around in the first place! The best way to describe them is the naked minstrels you find in bags of Revels.

BTW the giraffe was called Geoffrey. On the back of the pack there was a picture of Geoffrey with a picture of some of the chocolate counters..and it said ''can you count how many counters Geoffrey has''.

Anyone remember Treets?

I remember them well, one of my fav's when growing up - the OP is right in thinking they are the naked minstrels in Revels - That's exactly what they were. Remember.... revels were just the "Celebration" chocs of the day!

I also look back fondly at Texan bars, Argentina Chews (1978 world cup sweeties!), Whopper bars, Kola Kubes and Sweet Peanuts. Also my Dad's favourite was Peanut Treats.

Take away the strikes, blackouts, poverty, cold houses and the lack of technology and the 70's don't seem that bad :whistling: :)

They changed the biscuit from a lovely sweet cinnamon to a horrid powdered chocolate thing that tastes like eating drinking chocolate powder.

I remember 'Counters' - they destroyed the wrapper, should have kept that original too.

Who remembers 'Nutty Bar'... was a caramel log wrapped in roasted peanuts.
Also 'Moose Bar' - similar to Milky Way. Had a pic of a moose on the wrapper funny enough.:-D
#31
OMG....I used to love these. Never realised this is what they were called and I've always called them galaxy buttons...yum yum!!!

Wow! I had forgotten that I remembered these (if that makes sense). There must have been about 3,000 calories per bar....around the same as a Star Bar!

*I was upset when they went up to 3p

What they should bring back is 80's Yorkies. They've been soft and sickly since the early 90's, used to be my favourite but now they're disgusting. The original ones were rock hard, I couldn't bite through one with my underdeveloped child's jaw. And they have the nerve to run an ad campaign saying they're 'not for girls'. The only boys they're for are Anthony Cotton and Walter the Softy.

And bring back raspberry Fruit Pastilles, the Strawberry ones pale in comparison.
