What a helpful comment - clearly you dont want a Tab but have posted on a deal for it anyway?!

Having owned an ipad I really dont see why people put this tablet down - its snappy & light in hand. A great little device if iPad isnt for you. Heat.

You really need to have a go before you buy - I had one for the day on Friday and felt very disappointed with the response times when swiping the screen as I do on my IPAD. I really expected a lot from this device but I can only describe it as slow to respond with clunky software and after an hour of use, very hot.

Battery life is shocking as well, I had to leave it on charge when not in use whereas my IPAD will go all day on one charge.

Waste of money IMHO

And the apple fan boys rise again.....

Firstly this is much better than the itampon and secondly it runs a decent os and not one locked down by the manufacter.

You'll get the apple sheep slagging this off but jealousy is a bad thing.

Joke of a device. The market place is tiny with barely anything catering for a high resolution device . Overall the samsung tab feels plasticky for a device that is priced so closely to the iPad and they might as well not have the camera, quality of the pictures are bad even for phone camera standards. Huge dissapointment. Anyone considering getting this should wait for the cheaper onslaught of android tablets coming from toshiba, archos and advent
#17
For that price, Id take an ipad.. however, I'll wait until Chinese android slates are out with more features. Maplin already sell them for £99.99 (£159.99 for multitouch) - but the specs on the newer ones are close to the samsung, as well as using the same processor.
#18
not jealous in the slightest. Im not a fanboy either :) I had a galaxy s and got rid of it being full of bloatware from samsung and got a desire HD. very happy with it.

The OS on the tab, as admitted by google, was never designed for a tablet. The tab is slow, clumsy and the screen is too small. iPad has better apps, bigger screen, cheaper, better looking etc. tab is a poor attempt

Tend to agree, I have android devices and an ipad. Android OS is amazing on a smart phone (I dont use many apps or play games, use it as a phone and satnav etc.) but the OS doesnt work as well as IOS on a tablet. Perhaps in the near future it will, but with the lack of apps / dev support and polished interface its not quite there, yet.

I just don't understand why Apple users have the tendency of being judgemental towards other devices. When iphone first came out, yeah it was neat, looks great, easy to use and generally a great handsome device....but other smart phones have caught up and although still an iphone user, will definately consider moving to android when contract is up.

Same applies, ipad is probably one of the most restricted tablets out there, beside the style, I can't see why it would be any better than most tablets out there - especially this Samsung and Archos, Viewsonic....I would even consider some Chinese ipad imitations before iPad as they work OK at a very low costs.

That said, I wouldn't replace my trusty net book with a tablet any time soon.

For what it is, it's a good deal. voted hot.

So many lies about this device everywhere I turn. The build quality is solid, the camera quality is decent and the OS is snappy. Oh and good luck making calls on your iPads!

Got to say it again - this is a deal site, this is a deal thread, its for the Galaxy Tab NOT who thinks the ipad is better. Mods can we not shut down some of these users?!

Cheapest price so far so a good deal - simple.

Good find for 32mb

But TBH, would prefer to go for the Tesco Exchange Deal...

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-9724.aspx

16gb at £469 - but ONLY half that price with clubcard exchange deal

I have an android phone and an ipad.

Android is good, and catching up fast but it really isnt ready for use as a tablet due to the fact there aren't any where near as many large-screen suitable apps for it.

If this was £299 then id say otherwise, but at this pricepoint i'd still recommend an ipad

The iPad 16GB Wifi works out at £364 after cashback from Best Buy at the moment, seems a good price.

why would you want to make a call on an ipad? its not what a tablet is designed for. Wouldnt particulary want to make a call by holding my desktop to my face either to be fair

iPad 32Gb Wifi £424.15 after cashback so this deal pretty much the same as the iPad cost-wise

Yeah i tried one for five minutes and the screen response drove me mad,may have just been a bad example but i would definitely try before you buy ,

I've been using one for a week , have never used an iPad so can't comment on the screen response but it does seem quite slow

agreed. android is supposed tobe cheaper. i can get a 9.7" ipad for that price. this 7" galaxy tab is only worth £250 max to me. spend way less than that & get 5" dell streak. at that also acts as a phone

I love this device but the price puts me off... having said that the galaxy s is basically a smaller version of this and slightly cheaper so i can't see samsung reducing this to below the price of the phone can you ?

I'm sorry, but I find Android users to be just as bad, if not worse now.
Also applications wise, Android is still behind iOS. I've experienced this having owned iPhones, HTC Desire, Orange San Fran, and an iPad.

Personally I'd wait until after christmas for an Android tab. Much better hardware coming, Android 3.0, and hopefully apps/games designed for tablets.

well I don't own an ipad but this device is just another lame attempt at being one of those inbetween an smart phone and ipad device. There is no market for it and it's a waste of money.
