Can confirm the PS3 guitar hero world tour was already priced at £24.99 last week because I bought it! So looks like a sales technique to me! Still good prices though, so hot from me.

I'm not sure but are Gameplay somehow part Game and Gamestation? I bought a game from them once and it came with a game sticker on it.

Is so then this would coincide with the other game clearances that are going on today.

Yeah, Game own both Gamestation and Gameplay, hence the same offers running across both sites.
#4
Thanks, been meaning to get Orange Box for ages :)

Don't forget 9% Quidco!!

Not necessarily the same prices.

Same product on offer on both sites, £10 difference.

not really any bargains there

I like the idea of a payday sale. Seems old fashioned in some ways to call it that. It's been going on for years.
#8
There are decent prices for PC games. Prince of Persia is well-priced.

The Oblivion GOTY set is great at £14.99 (plus Quidco). I nearly picked this up a week ago for £19.99 at Game, which I still thought was a good price?

Probably going to still get it from Game (same price as Gameplay), just because I've got reward vouchers to use ;-)

Thanks for the 'reminder' tho!

Tempted to get guitar hero world tour out of the lot, some of it is cheaper elsewhere which is a shame, the gameplay sales are normally quite good

Pretty tempted by fallout 3 on the PC too actually as it's cheaper than the 360 everywhere else....only downside is resale :(

Fallout 3 doesn't have the DRM from my knowledge so you are free to do whatever you like with it :-D

Lol Gameplay on Hotukdeals now there's a first. Most uncompetitive site I've ever known, when were they bought out by Game then?
#13
Gamepaly are just online version of Game (from when Game had no online sales eg no website business) it used to tell you this on Gameplay site but this info seems to have vanished now.

Gameplay used to be a mail order company though, were around before any Game stores existed.

Game owns Gameplay and Gamestation

Gameplay was bought out in 2004;

http://www.gamegroup.plc.uk/gg/investors/reports/2004rp/interim04/interim04.pdf

In July 2004 the Group acquired Gameplay (GB) Limited, an award winning online and mail order
retailer of video games, computer software and associated products.

And Gamestation was bought out in 2007;

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/26856/GAME-acquires-Gamestation-in-74-million-deal

Stunning takeover confirmed as GAME looks to dominate specialist sector.

The £74 million deal comes just a week after the High Street retailer released an impressive set of financials and spoke of significant expansion.

no one cares about game station :lol

anyways companies are dodgy as Co's gameplay is their trading name so the aqq report should be the other way round now or should it :lol dodgy

Nothing to see here no games worth buying unless you want second hand games purporting to be new

I'm sure Gameplay have been around longer than 1996, it just says when they were incorporated not established. I bought Transport Tycoon from them when it first came out for £39.99 its a 10Mb download now :cry: Was released in 1994, I was browsing Computer World Magazine or similar. I was 11 :geek: at the time I was taking computers apart and rebuilding them :)
