Hiya

Have got word that Gamestation's xmas/new year sale starts tomorrow (Monday) on their preowned stuff, and includes almost 1000 lines starting from 98p!

I've been in this morning and picked up 10 games for under £25.. some of them ain't gonna be brilliant but for the prices i've paid i can't complain!

All X360
Farcry 2 £4.98
Quantum of Solace £4.98
Beijing 2008 £4.98
Rainbow Six Vegas £1.98
LMA Manager 2007 £1.98
Madden 08 98p
PDC Darts 98p
MotoGP 08 98p
Table Tennis 98p
World Snooker 07 98p

I'd say Farcry 2, Rainbow Six Vegas and Moto GP are standouts at those prices.. I didn't really look at the more recent games due to tight budgets :(

Instore only as far as I'm aware.

Cheers

#3

#5
I'll go at 9 and report back.

Will have to hold nose when i go in as the store stinks.
#6
I have a friend who works there, said he finished work in the last hour due to all the price changes.
#7
been one of the best years ever for discounted games, probably worth checking out :)
#8
I rang on saturday about something else and they told me they were working late, til 7pm on sunday, although the store shuts at 4pm. This explains why!
#9

I also find Graniger games is a bit funky....feel bad when I have to take my gf inside.
#13
I'll be popping in later this morning so will post if anything stands out.
#14
Interesting, especially seeing as I have £80 on a trade-in card waiting to be used - the initial idea of holding out for next year's line up of AAA games was never going to last anyway. :-D
#15
I'll keep my eye out oin this thread to see if anything decent pops up!

Been in and had a look the 360 games on offer. Best deals that I could see.

These were all preowned -

Shadowrun - £1.99
Alone in the Dark - £2.99
Pro Ev 2008 - £0.99
Rainbow six - £1.99

Many previous sports titles 99p - Fifa 07, Madden 06 etc

Looks to be some good bargains for those that maybe missed games first time round or for those looking to bulk up their games collection.

just came back from our local one and they were putting them out on the shelves

mixed new and old with a selection of ps3 and xbox at 99p not prepowned.

the pc ones were not on yet as the girl said they were still working on it!!

dont own any consoles so did not take any names of the ones at 99p but there was a couple on each of the shelves

waiting for the PC ones

caerphilly store if that helps

guess its a deal as 99p were there and 98p for a football cant remember which.

Odd thing was that they were all under a 50% banner shelf

just got Prince of Persia (latest one) for the 360 for £4.98 and table tennis (which is much older), for 98p. This was Bristol Broadmead. Second hand, but disks look to be in perfect condition

Resident evil 5 was £9.99 I think, and Street fighter iv £12.95, they were putting loads of others out, lots around the £10 to £20 mark, worth a look if you're nearby, not sure it's worth a special journey without ringing.
#21
Some good stuff in this. Picked up Resident Evil 5 (360) for £9.98.
#22
Doesn't seem worth the effort of going into town. =/ If there was online it'd be hotter. :p

I had about £65 on mine twice, I managed to reduce it down to nearer £40 by buying GTA: Episodes from Liberty City for £25 (price matched argos) but kept finding that games like PES 2009 and MW2 were so much cheaper in the supermarkets that it didn't make sense to buy from Gamestation. - £30 and £20 respectively, rather than £34.99 and £44.99. Still kept trading old games in though  to the point where I had £58 on there last week.

Always got 'decent' (well, better than the opposition) trade in prices by matching CEX but not worth buying anything from either. So managed to shift all the credit, bought 3 packs of 2100 points (the guy couldn't understand why I didn't just want the 4200 pack) - I just told him why I was doing it to save more arguing - and sold them on for £15 each via paypal gift. Alright I 'lost' £2.00 per card but that was offset by the higher trade ins, and it means I got cash, and still ended up better off than trying to use GS credit for new stuff!

Tempted to look for an old snooker game though!

PDC Darts is well worth 98p!

'One Hundred and Eighty' !

Seriously I enjoyed this game but wouldn't pay more than £5 for it

Not in Shrewsbury.

Think it must be part of the interview process. Picture the scene -

Job applicant walks into the interview.

Interviewer '' Gosh you stink, when can you start''

The Sheffield store (near the Moor? (sorry, just moved here)) have the sale items out - a couple of copies of each game are out on display and the store is dead, looks like no-one knows about the sale!

The 98p items for the Xbox are Fifa, Pro Evo, Table Tennis and Darts, whilst the PS3 sale had Fifa and Pro Evo, and also Madden, Tiger Woods, and World Snooker (couldn't find any Xbox versions and the guy said that all sale items were out 'for now', whatever that means). These games were all either 08 or in some cases 07.

Resident Evil 5 on the Xbox was £9.98, and Quantum of Solace were there for both consoles at £4.98.

Crackdown was £4.98 (unlike the couple of quid I thought it was from memory)

Think they had Stranglehold and Rainbow Six Vegas (not the second one :( ) on the Xbox for a couple of quid

Couldn't find any Wii games for that price. They do have some of them reduced, but nothing that seemed to be sub £5, otherwise I'd have bought it!
#32
Crackdown is a great game well worth £2 ! Rainbox six vegas is decent enough as well. WIll check it out next time I am in everything will probably be gone by then though !
#33
Can add
Silent Hill : Homecoming for £4.99
Eat Lead - The Return of Matt Hazard for £4.99
Alone in the Dark for £2.99
Forza 2 for £4.99
Rockstar TableTennis for 99p

good find, got me some cheap games!
#34
Can anyone check for copies of the following:

Motorstorm Pacific Rift
UFC2009
Oblivion
Dead Space

Wont be able to get to a store for a few hours and wondering if its worth the trip
#35
is this only Gamestation main stores, or those in Blockbusters as well (which are often cheaper anyway).

Gamestation isn't in Blockbuster stores anymore, they were rebranded Blockbuster games when Game took over (I'm pretty sure anyway!)

As does the Warrington store - abundance of teenagers & lack of deodorant.
