99p for a hdmi cable on ebay, maybe £1.99 if you're really feeling like splashing out.

You don't need premium cables for HDMI, it's digital either the cable works or it doesn't...

Although manufacturing quality on some cheap cables has a lot to be desired, that's why they sometimes fail.

In theory when data transmitted through HDMI cable it will stay same at the other end ,say for example 5GB will end up 5GB. But in practice people think there is difference in TV picture quality . I'm not convinced but think there might be something in it.

I don't think most people believe paying slightly more is anything to do with picture quality, it's more about build quality of the cable. Some people just don't like cheap, tacky looking cables, and prefer something a bit more sturdy. . Of course, that means paying a couple of quid more, not £40.X)

Nope, digital is digital. Cheaply made 99p delivered cables may fail because they're poorly made, but something like this at £3 is probably about the right price for the length.

Only time you should really expect to pay more for quality of a cable is long ones. I bought a 15m cable for my PC for a couple quid, kept dropping the picture because it was so badly made. Bought a new one for £10, much better. I laugh when I see cables in places like Currys for £40-50 though, what a con!

A quick research reveals there is a big difference in HDMI cables especially between 1.0,1.2,1.3,1.4 and 2.0 . Please see coloured chart in the middle of the page for easy to understand differences.

If Your device has high specification you may benefit from high specification HDMI cable not higher price HDMI cable.New PS4 comes with HDMI cable marked ' high speed ', probably minimum requirement,at first I thought a waste .
