Cheap cables are exactly that... I'd much rather double up the price of that quid and know I'm getting something a bit more reputable. And a lot longer in length than a phone charger..

Agreed but from what I remember this cable is 3 metres long from when I've seen it in store. For that length it's a hot price!

I'd hardly say Gameware is reputable and you're paying twice the price than you have to, gameware is in itself cheap/generic. I've never had a problem with ebay cables. A phone charger is far more accessible to game with than connected to the console itself. Still twice the price it needs to be for a comparative product

Yeah I thought they was that length... I have one. Great for if I don't want to sit close to the console when charging (we know what ds4 battery is like

Suppose it's down to personal preference then... I'd rather buy straight from game knowing I can get a straight swap if the charger becomes faulty... Lost out on too many 99p eBay 'bargain cables' in my experience to ever bother buying them again.

The extra long cable length sold me on it before ever Considering eBay prices anyway

The cheap cables on fleabay typically will only charge at 500mA and can't support rapid charging.

Whether this cable is any better is hard to tell from the detail provided

I'll have a pair of these please, heat from me :)

Hard to tell when the DS4 battery is so bad if you're playing a few hours at a time like I do. Cant say I can complain about the way these charge though. They're better than the one that came with the console. I can say that

Thanks Chantelle,

Purchased two.

Appreciated.

Some people need to get a life rather than quibble over a quid, either buy it or not.

I purchased 'Visible LED Light Micro USB' off Ebay that works great with PS4 controller for £1.49. Meant for Samsung Galaxy's but they both have the same 'Micro B' USB requirements. The LED's look cool as though electricity is moving down the wire and into the controller.

Good price. Paid about 30p more for something similar from Amazon a few weeks ago.

I use the longer one with my Sony Gold wireless headset. That way I don't have to switch headsets if the charge runs out mid gaming session. :)

How do the battery hold up on these? Want to go wireless but want something with very good battery life. I'm always in a party chat whenever I go on my ps4

Me too. Not had them run out during a gaming session yet, but like to be prepared. I usually use them from about 8pm to 2am (BF4, etc,) and then plug them in when I quit. Easily good for 6 hours, probably get 8 out of them.

The sooner there is an option in Sonys PS4 interface menu to turn off the battery draining (pointless unless used for motion tracking by the camera) LED the better.

This has a light on it to tell you when charged - just a little extra i know. Plus its around 2 meters longer than a generic phone charger cable so ideal for me as i play from my couch and could charge whilst i play as my ps4 is around 2 meters away. I think this 'just about' justifies the extra quid. But I know what youre saying.

Great deal for such a long cable.

Does anyone know if the cable is capable of charging/powering devices at 2A?

Thanks

It's 3m, bought one for £4.99 in store recently. Has a 'flat' plastic cable. Has the little metal prongs to try and make sure it stays in the port but it's still a bit wobbly due to the length of the connector.

Luckily they've now added rudimentary wireless DS4 support to the PS3 so I don't need it for playing now.

Had a nice braided one from eBay but the connector didn't last.

Just wonder if a micro USB could be used for both charger and data transfer.

I've had many problems with cheap cables from ebay.

Firstly they don't provide as much power as the cables provided with the devices.

My Raspberry Pi wont even boot with some USB cables I've bought off ebay.

Secondly I get cables randomly losing connection, likely due to poor wiring or soldering.

Unfortunately it's difficult to find a 'good usb cable' on ebay, they may describe themselves as such but you never know what's going to arrive.
#38
i bought the same for 25p from amazon 15 days back :)
#39
Brought one! Thanks buddy!

I don't usually moan at deals. But I've got to say. Just get a cheap cable on eBay...
