Hi
Thanks for posting. I have added an image to your post.
This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/339941/how-to-post-and-host-images-for-thr/

I'm shooting myself in the foot by mentioning this offer, considering how I work on the Deli part time.

So Michael,

Truthfully, how old Is the cheese given out as samples???

:-)

The Cheese that we give out in samples tends to be when we order a surplus in stock, or to shift some cheese that isn't selling. Last year some bright spark thought chocolate cheese would be a great idea for valentines day, but the stuff never sold, so we were reduced to heavily sampling that to try shift it.

The photo looks like a really pink baby with a rattan hat on, or is it just my imagination running wild?

Hot deal. Not sure of chocolate cheese though!!

The ham has been on before but they used to have limits if 100g per customer. Is this still true?

I'll vote hot. It's a good deal for the supermarket punters.

But, as I work in food wholesale, I can get it cheaper!

They'd be buying this for about £3.70/kg. So they're still making approx 33% profit.
Which shows how stupidly high there mark ups normally are.

Can deli counter ham be frozen?

If so this makes a much better deal than prepacked gammon ham which is nearly £2.00 for 100g.

Would then buy quite a bit of this and stick it in the freezer ready for lunch time work sandwiches.

You most certainly should be able to freeze it. But you may find it'll taste a little different afterwards, as this helps the salts seperate.

Absolutely correct the mark ups are incredible. The meat, fish, delicatessen, (other specialist departments) is Morrisons cash cows. The Carvery Ham on the Delicatessen is another 50% mark up on the wholesale price they've bought.

I thought it was too! Thought it was some tacky ornamental figure.

Either that makes us intelligent, stupid or raving mad???

I would only consider freezing it( and that goes for raw bacon and gammon)if it was dry cured(no added water). It will not be very nice when thawed.
This is nice ham though, you can soon munch your way through 200/300gms :)

The cooking process is much the same.
