Seems a bargain heat! Anyone got one?

Anyone know, do the bases of these type of burners get hot? I.e. would it be suitable for use on a deck without scorching it?

Looks good to me!

Would of thought a certain amount of heat would radiate downwards. Probably could just put a couple of slabs on top the deck to protect it

Heat added !!

Errrr It actually produces its own heat when you burn wood etc so effectively ... its gonna get hot !!

Not too convinced on the owl motif tho ... it could be a hoot !

my inlaws use something similar on decking. it sits on ceramic tiles which aparently minimise the risk of fire.

My post have been chopped off......guess my emoji aren't liked by hukd.

I will review when it arrives. They are cheap because they are designed, manufactured and sold direct, according to the website blurb.

a couple of cheap patio slabs would solve any issues with scorching your decking.

I notice they do give a thickness of the steel, is it like a garden incinerator, burns through the sides and burns off all the paintwork?

I see "free" delivery for Northern Ireland costs another £50. So voted cold for the very first time unfortunately.

Doesn't make it any less of a deal for folks who can get it.

As if free to the mainland UK isn't common. You can't have lived in NI very long!

Agreed .. wouldn't last more than a few seasons near the coast, not worth the cash IMO

This looks very similar on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Summer-146cm-Garden-Chiminea/dp/B00UN16V8G

£30 extra for delivery to Aberdeenshire, kind of despised companies that take advantage of that and charge a premium, pity as I was going to order one.
#23
Silly question time...I see they are burning logs in it...does it send out a lot of smoke from the top please? Is it suitable for a smokeless zone (and if so...what do you burn in it?)?
Thanx!

You're correct I'm only 5 foot 6 ;)
I was going to order one but having to pay twice the price as most of you it seems, it's not as good a deal for me personally so in keeping with the site I have voted down. This quote is taken directly from the get deal page.

hi,you could always put a paving flag underneath it,that would absorb the heat.

it arrived on time, well packaged and fairly easy to put together. The reason why its 50 quid is because it has a manufacturing fault, it has a hole in the top for the chimney and another i the floor of the fire chamber. The kit comes with a plate and bolts to cover the hole and it makes no real difference to the look or useability of the item.

Its not the best built but it works well. If it lasts 2 or 3 years you will have had your 50 quid worth.

Im happy with it.
