I have no links with handtec but have used them successfully before now.

I think this is the same, and £24 cheaper.

I've not voted yet, until it's confirmed as the same.

This is HR version, and in your link - this is not HR version

HR ( I might be wrong) Heart rate monitor. Which is included in the link I mentioned.

I am afraid you are wrong. The Fenix you have referred to does not have the wrist based HR monitor which the Handtec one referred to in this thread does, as well as the chest based strap.

The one in your link from Millets only has HR function from the older style heart rate monitor band. Since that one, a newer version of the band has been released (along with the Forerunner 230 and 630) which has a red outline. This band allows for advanced run metrics usable in certain watches (I assume the Fenix3, it also has it on my 630). This post is for the Fenix3 with optical heart monitoring on the back of the watch, as well as the new heart rate strap which will give (presumably) advanced metrics such as stride length, ground contact time and vertical oscillation.

Personally, I'd get this deal if I could justify it, but having spent £300 on the 630 10 months ago, I really can't. It's a lovely watch (the Fenix) and this is actually a good deal.

OK thanks, so this one reads the HR from the wrist. As I said, I hadn't voted until it was confirmed it was the same.

PriceSpy reckons this is the lowest price by at least £17. God I'm tempted now.

Yes, from the wrist, but also the option to use the (slightly) more accurate band with advanced running metrics

I've not tried any optical (wrist based) hrm that's anywhere near as accurate or stable as the Garmin or polar ant straps ... is there any decent comparison online showing otherwise?

Try DC Rainmaker. He's very thorough on his reviews, and usually has comparison charts of various devices from the same run

hi I do follow dc rainmaker quite regularly and still not seen anything remotely comparable (accuracy stability) to a decent ant+ chests trap.. my ageing well used Garmin 410 is due for replacement and would like to get rid of the strap but haven't seen anything optical that's much good in comparison

there is nothing :\ If you want proper accuracy and not a gimmick that's not very precise then stick with chest strap :)
