Very nice price - I was recently brought one of these with the footpod - here's an example of a workout uploaded to garmin connect:

Does anyone know if the heart rate monitor included is the same one that is compatible with the Garmin 405?
If so, I will buy this just for that as it is £35+ on its own anywhere else.
Then someone will be getting a new watch for their birthday!

Having read the reviews, it looks like it is the same HRM.
I bought one and looks like it was the last one in stock....
#3
Anyone had experience with this watch?

The spec says it does have the heart rate chest strap included.

I've used one of these with the heart rate monitor and the footpod. I've done a few runs using it and it records lots of stats and is easy to use.

The only downside is if you are unfit, like myself, if you keep stopping and starting it will start a new lap each time, which means it can quickly fill the memory up. But just transfer it to your PC and delete it from the watch after each run and it's np.

Garmin s/ware is easy to use, syncing all devices up with each other is easy and syncing the watch with the pc is easy if you follow the instructions, its not all plug and play, so you prob will need to follow them :)

Oh, and think it's been this price for a while on amazon

You can turn off the autolap feature.

Does it include heart monitor belt?

I'm a completed newbie, and I've started running....albeit in the gym, my aim is to do road running, with a half marathon coming up in October. I've heard that these can help you train, and for this price I'm interested in buying one. Can anyone tell me briefly what is included in the kit, and how useful it would be for a novice like myself? Does this come with a chest strap, and if so, how awkward and annoying is it?
#8
I had this but sent it back -- I think that was rather my own fault though rather than the watches, I thought it was a regular HRM and wanted it mainly for displaying my heart rate and calorie burned while working out, not logging speed and whatnot to look at after the work out.

It does come with a chest strap and it's very comfortable -- the most comfortable one I have ever had! The software was super easy to use. So as long as you know what it is you are buying this is a good price (the same price I paid a few months ago fyi!).

It does, you can just click through what you want to display.

Good deal. You can also do the same if you have a Nokia with GPS and Sports Tracker. Can upload all your stats and view your route on msn / google maps too.
#15
Nokia sports tracker is good though I think you only get a heart rate monitor with the N79 active.
#16
Doh! just bought one on ebay for £40. These things are great, had it on today whilst walking to work and it records your heart rate. You can then transfer to your pc and automatically draws a graph showing you your heart. Great find!
#17
Bought one of these back in November (was down to about £26.99).

Also bought another with footpod which at the time was around £38.

As I then had 2 watches and 2 usb ANT sticks I flogged the extra ones on a reasonably well known auction site & got over £40 for the 2.

So for under £30 I've now got the watch, usb ANT stick, foot pod & heart monitor.

They all work perfectly together & I'm very happy with the way it works.

Keep your eye open for the foot pod dropping in price.

Well worth £30.

does this tell you where you have been, or just how far?

No it aint a GPS one - they cost waaaay more.
#21
Does this ask you to input information such as weight, height, age?

Also, would it be suitable to be used by two different people ?

Thanks

Start a thread and see what the general consensus is? I say good luck to him/her.

If it was just links he was flogging to the flocks of sheep thats one thing but hes also selling job lots of items as well.

When an offer sells out before everyone gets a fair go its the likes of him buying up stock.

May his next poo be a spikey one.

Hi,

I'm relatively new to running, just completed Great Manchester Run on Sunday and looking for something like this. Can you get one's which don't need a chest strap and work off your wrist pulse? Would seem much better to me.

Good price though, heat added.

You can get ones that measure your wrist pulse but they arent accurate. These chest straps sit tight on top of your heart to give accurate reading.

You can find cheap wrist ones on ebay for under £20

Thanks - just ordered one for the wife who's started running.
#30
if you use the foot pod too does this then give you the distance too? I was going to get the 305 a while ago but it hasn't seemed to drop in price.
#31
How does this measure up against Polar products in the similar price range? I'm a member of PruHealth, and they are offering discount of up to 50% on Polar HRM. I'm undecided about whether I should go with the Garmin or Polar.
#32
Ordered this, great price, thanks!!
#33
Does this product tell you how far you have run or just your heart rate over a period of time?

You need the footpod addition to tell you distance - which is on amazon as well, don't know price tho.

If you have both (HRM and footpod) then it can produce fancy graphs laying the info over the top of each other
#35
Well impressed with this, got it delivered this morning, just got back from a run using it,
The very cool thing is it uploads the info without any help from the user,ie the second you walk through the door if your within range of your PC it just uploads it!
By the time id taken my running shoes off and walked over to the PC all the info was uploaded already! Am gonna buy the footpod this week.

now £34.99
