I got this the last time round. It's funny how Amazon seem to let the prices fluctuate with this. If someone could point me in the right direction for a cheap footpod please let me know!

does the job and I love doing the plots on my puter with it.

Ah, good to see it back down in price again. I got this last time and it is pretty good. I did a run on a running machine to calibrate it and now it is about 2-3% out when I run which is not bad as not a GPS device.

I got the foot pod by buying the watch with footpod for around £55 and sold the watch on ebay for £30 so you could try doing that. Or check out the price for the watch with footpod and HRM belt.

There is a new FR60 out but it is £130. Not checked what is better about it but this does me fine.

Thanks for that. I will probably do as you suggested. I hoped that the footpod would have gone down in price since I got this deal. Also, can anyone tell me how I get this to calculate the calories lost during a session, or can I only do this with a foot pod?

I bought this last time for the HRM. I use it with my Garmin 405 GPS watch.
The cheapest I could find the HRM on it's own was £35!
I sold the watch at work for £20 giving me a nice cheap HRM.

Is the heart rate monitor one of those big strap ones across the chest? I have one for a polar watch I bought a few years ago and it never seems to stay put when I run, if I tighten it too much it digs in. There used to be monitors you could clip onto your ear as you ran, i wonder why these never took off.

Yes it is a chest band but it fits securely and I soon forget it is there when I start running. An ear clip would get very annoying wouldn't it?

I have always fancied one of these, but dunno if i am just too sensitive but the chest band always annoys me as it feels somewhat restrictive. Good price tho.

I'm gussing the software isn't mac compatible so can anybody tell me if this still works okay without having a windows PC?

For £30 it's a hot deal, although for running i'd recommend getting the footpod too, the new FR60 is a better with extra line of display and more features. but it's only been out since mid june and prices are still high £130+ (with foodpod)

I have a 405 too, and I have been hunting around for a cheap footpod, but the cheapest I could find was around £50, so I think I`ll buy the 50 with the pod and then fleabay the watch.
I love my watch, best buy ever.

If you have a 405 why do you want a footpod? Surely the GPS functionality gives you everything you need?:?

Works fine on the Mac; the Ant+ USB stick is supported and uploads data automatic to their web based analyst tool at http://connect.garmin.com/ for older Garmin GPS (FR305 etc) they provide a firefox & Safari plugin.

You can also download the older desktop based Garmin training centre, or use a 3rd party tool.

Nice price for a good bit of kit I use. Cheaper to buy footpod with the kit, but tbh you're better just buying this and then working out you distance after, lots of sites for that (www.mapmyrun.com).

Shoudl work on MAC - software and support all over the site for MAC.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I see GPS is mentioned does this come with the device or is bolt on extra?
#19
Just ordered one of these and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could pick up the Speed/Cadence Sensor for a reasonable price?

This is a great deal and a good motivator for actually doing workouts!

I have a treadmill at home, and it would be good to download my treadmill running onto my record for my outdoor running. It is just for my own records and stats really.
