Just to let you know its not particularly waterproof.

Whilst it does state upto 30' submerged under water (up to 1m), if you are swimming you will exherting greater forces on the seals than if you just held it underwater. Garmin watches are well known for their lack of water tightness.

Still its good value if you are a land lubber.

Land lubber all the way here.

Went swimming lengths with my webbed feet, torpedoe like wife last week & felt like I was in an episode of "Mr Bean gets in everyones way whilst trying desperately not to sink" after a few lengths.

Too embaressing - I'll stick to running.

Stick it under your swim cap.

BTW the HR stap that comes with the 305 works with the 50 too, so this is a great deal for me, I can leave the 305 on the bike with cadence sensor and then use this when running with the foot pod.
