Well looking at Amazon and other reviews I was convinced this is excellent value for money - never like to spend a fortune on technology - you always get twice as much for your money next time round!

It can also run off 2 x AA batteries. A little bit hungry though - so I have used rechargeable ones.

Are these as good as a Tomtom one? And can you download voices to them and stuff like that?
#18
[COLOR="Blue"]Nice one, I had one of these little beauties before i brought a tom tom go 510, and I can say that its more reliable than my tom tom. I would recomend this to anybody who wants to never get lost again. You can download free speed camera points of interest on the link below, a must if you get a gps.

I've been using one of these for over a year now and it's been very good. Alright, I had to take the first two back as faulty but this third one's been very good and the speed camera POI's work well too.

I would say though, that although i've been using it mostly for work it is probably better suited to the domestic market.

It's worth noting that if it does go wrong Garmin support are superb. You go straight through to an English call centre after a couple of rings and they recently sent me out a new screen mount just on a phone call.

Just linked to Amazon and their out of stock.

Just wanted to add this, for those who got in on a garmin i3 deal in the last few months.

I got my i3 from this thread in december 06. It came with UK & Ireland mapping (and very basic maping for some other close by countries) It also had that annoying update maps nag screen, which was odd as it came with V9 map data.

After reading up on the device learnt that as it was in warranty I could get a free map update from Garmin. So I registered and ordered the free disc.

Well it arrived and after I had unlocked it I was very pleased to find out that it provides me with full mapping for 'ALL' of Europe.

So if you haven't gotten around to registering your i3 and are stuck with UK & Ireland mapping it is well worth the effort. Although I still get the annoying nag screen :(

Should come in handy from my trip from Zurich airport into the alps in a couple of weeks :)
