Link no good as it takes you to the following :

Garmin Forerunner 205 Running Handheld GPS Unit £224.99
#4
Got one of these at the same price a few months ago, cracking GPS system for the money.
[admin]#6
Thanks gogboy/gobofraggle, now fixed!
#7
Link in this thread fixed, but front page one still takes you to the wrong item.....
[admin]#8
The front page is cached if you are not logged in so the cached copy probably still has the old link but it will be updated soon.

If ordering from CPW I'd suggest saving a screen grab of the item on your PC.

I have ordered "bargain" stuff from them before, only for them to change the web site, charge me full price and deny that the offer was ever on!

Sending an item back is also very difficult as they make you jump through a series of hoops..
#10
What else do you need to get one of these working?
#11
Nothing... unless you have a car with a heated screen ( mostly french) and then you'll need a booster ariel from maplin.
#12
my fiesta has a heated windscreen and it works perfect without the ariel
#13
Thanks Admin for fixing the link :)
#14
Nice find edi :) Thanks

Out of stock now.
I've had one of these for about 9 months which I got from Somerfields for £99.
They're not a bad unit but if your going to be using it alot it can be a pain inputting addresses/post codes with the thumb wheel.
If you get one then don't forget you can put the speed camera database on it which is very handy.
I also bought a transflash adapter so I could back up the memory card which is a good idea to do just incase. I'm glad I did too as I put a shed load of POI's on it and it refused to work after that, wiped the card, put the backup back on and walla, turned out one of the POI files was corrupt.

Back order is accepted still...

The comments about GPS not working with heated windscreen are not strictly true.
In fact, the problem windscreens are those that incorporate a heat-reflecting coating to stop the car getting so hot in the sun.

They were often fitted to the higher specification (usually those that have air- con) French cars, mainly Renault.

ok, two things that amused me when following this thread:
1. How big is a baseball? is it about the same size as a tennis ball? smaller? bigger?
2. "walla" - Half a city in Washington (I think you meant "voila") (Jeez, I hope I spell that correctly now:thinking:)

;-)
Sorry, back to work.
#20
Do you not need to hook it up with a phone or anything? In that case, very nice!

No as this is a standalone unit.

Am I the only one who consistently gets the following problem when I try to place an order?

Your credit credit has not been issued to the address you have specified in the previous page.

The only problem I can think is that my invoice address is different to my delivery address. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance for any help!

Most companies won't accept unless both addresses match.

As an addition to this I went to the CPW website, via the link in this thread & there was a pop up type ad for their online "live chat" help system & the agent there said it wasn't on back order & if I gave him the go ahead he could have one out to me tomorrow - so I did....will have to see now !!
#26
After going through the back order process,it has an instock box in the final screen.Must be instock.Yours Gmacz

Did it arrive? As I ordered one yesterday, but received an email that it was out of stock.

Very true, not had a problem in either my Mk1 or Mk3 Mondeos, both with heated windscreens.

Yup, mine came this morning, been wanting one for ages, figure this price was as good as it gets ?? very pleased with it. To answer an earlier question too, it's roughly cricket ball sized !!
#30
Order mine yesterday. Arrived this morning by CityLink. They still haven't debited my credit yet!!!

Does anyone know where I can get the speed camera locations from?

Also according to the Comet website this unit is searchable on 5 postcode digits. My postcode is 7 digits, so does that mean that this unit won't actually get me to my location???

Any help would be appreciated.
#31
Try [URL="http://www.pocketworldgps.com"]. You will need to register and the speed camera database costs £2.00 per month or £19.00 for 12 months. It is updated monthly.

I have an i3 and it searches on 7 digits.

You will need the speed camera database for the ulra zealous speed cops in North Wales.

CPW seems to have brought this back, not bad for £90

I can't tell folks enough times what a great little unit this is.
It will quickly pay for itself in the time you save in minutes and in pounds due to saved petrol too. They're great little units and has been said, the speed camera database is a really useful, if, i will admit can give a few false warnings. If only i could spend the time to edit the file, i could fix it, but too darn lazy!
#36
links broke, anywhere else doing this for £99?

Did anyone get ther Quidco from buying this? I've just checked my account and it states declined now!? :(
