I have this sat nav and it is excellent, I am usually fussy about layout on info etc but find this one easy to view. Highly recommended
I've always been a Garmin fan but their software for updates is such a pain I gave up last time after 2 hours trying. Going to try Tom Tom as soon as I can find a deal.
Ok, trying not to come over as a Tom Tom fan :-) but I love my old 730 which I upgraded maps to and has all software updates. I've been put off by the variable reports of the newer Tom Toms and considered Garmin. I use a mid range Garmin at work and visit a lot of peoples home. I have to be honest, I find the Garmin routing very odd with lots of pointless routes down 'short cuts' when you are better off on other roads (using it through areas I know) and also it comes up errors suggesting turns onto one way streets and often getting the sides of roads for the houses wrong, the address is on the left when it is on the right. Essentially they get you there, and if you don't know better you follow the route, but my Tom Tom 720's routing is superior. If I was buying a brand new one, I don't know who I'd trust tbh. :-)
Or use a phone.
I had a tomtom go 900 years ago and it was fantastic, only took me wrong in Italy once.

Moved over to tomtom on iphone and I have to say, it's utter rubbish! locks up, throws you out for no reason and takes you down every back track it can find, even with fastest route enabled and small roads taken off.
Will nearly always take you one route going and a different route coming back, even with iq routes off??

Please let this stand alone unit be as good as my old go 900, after all it is Christmas!!
