Good review here: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/garmin-nvi-255w/

If i was driving in Europe this year i would probably give this a go.

I have had this for a year - Think I paid £120 last june for it. Its well worth the money great bit of kit :)

I have used it to drive to Italy through France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany and switzerland

The best navigation units are made by TomTom. I am travelling acros Europe every month,so tested and proven to be the best. Forget Garmin- pain in the a** Good price, but not performance.

Do it often do you?

You can go through france into switzerland and into northern Italy it s about an hour quicker but costs about £150 in toll charges

if you go the way I quoted you go from calais into belgium round brussells through luxembourg back into france up to Strasburg then over the boarder into Germany (so you can miss more tolls and drive faster) into switzerland through the alps into Italy.

any ideas if this is better than the 265W? ive had a look around and I think one of them has bluetooth, is that the only difference? cheers

When you look at the route planner it tells you to go through france then into northern Switzerland - This will cost a fortune in toll charges.

When you get to calais set you sat nav to brussells - when you get near to brussells set it to Offenburg (germany) This will then take you through luxemburg back into France (only for a while) then into Germany (offenburg is a great place for a stopover by the way) then when in offenburg put your destination then will take you down the autobarn into switzerland and Italy

What a load of cobblers, Garmin beat TomTom hands down! At least when Garmin say traffic included they mean straight out of the box and free for life!
