Or get a playbook 7" for less :D
Not a bad price, but some worrying individual Amazon reviews on this. I also liked the comment by Garmin that the life of the unit (and therefore the free updates) was likely to be around 5 years!
Unfortunately just registering the unit does not get you the Cashback but does get you the lifetime updates.
For cashback you need to go to the Garmin Summer Cashback website
enter your details and upload a copy of your VAT invoice for the product you have purchased. (There is a link on the Amazon page) Once cashback is approved Garmin will send you a confirmation email telling you that your cashback will arrive within 28 days. Mine arrived on Monday.
If you want a carry case for you 5" Garmin, Amazon currently have this @ £12.95
or from Currys @ £9.99

Lifetime map updates is good as long as Garmin stay in the sat nav business long enough for you to take advantage of them.

A very good point.

And since TomTom have taken a lot of their trade just by producing better SatNavs, and SatNavs are being replaced anyway by Smartphones, you do have to wonder how long that's going to be.

I have a Garmin, but I won't be replacing it with another one.
Anyone got hard evidence that Garmin are going out of the Sat Nav business then ??
No, thought not

Anyone found it cheaper ? Nope . . . oO
