picked up the above today in the Great Yarmouth branch. I don't know how many are left as they had to go out the back to get it. £5 off voucher also available in store by the entrance.

Can you tell me where this reduced price was printed?

i.e. was it in a catalogue or underneath the product

I did not check any catalogue. I originally went in to check out the Navman F20 and just found the Garmin while I was looking in the store. It wasn't even shown as reduced in price. I have been after a cheap(ish) Sat-Nav for a while so I knew that these usually retail for £150 or so.

Got mine today from Ipswich :-D

Used the £10 off voucher to bring it down to £89,
they got it from "the back room" ;-) , so no idea of how many were left,
but as stated this is not a special offer, it is the current shop price

Great unit, looks good, works great, simple to use without manual

Excellent find - (amazon have it at £159) - voted hot !!!

For anyone who's bought it check out the following website which will enable the Sat-Nav to read out the Street Names as well

I just received the Free Map Update through the post and I'm now able to transfer the whole of Europe to my Unit.

I've paid only £89 and I've got the Whole of Europe + Talking street names

Brilliant!!

How did you apply to get the map update?

was your unit not on version 9 maps already?

When I received my Unit it only had V.8 Maps of UK & Ireland

I then went online to Garmin website and registered the Unit and ordered the free map upgrade to V.9 (which I thought would only be UK & Ireland)

I received the DVD Maps today and when I installed it, I entered the code from the registration slip which was included in the Sat-Nav Box, and the Whole of Europe was unlocked.

This means I'm able to transfer however many Countries I want to the Unit. (It takes up alot of room and so I installed in on a SD Card)

I'm extremely pleased with the value for money I'm getting out this Sat-Nav

What do people think of it versus the TomTom? I know that Garmin used to have a poor reputation, but has this now improved? Thanks experts!!

It works great, very accurate so far, very precise on turns, good map detail,
simple to use (no reading manuals for ages), has speed camera's installed,
I'm very impressed for the money.
A colleague of mine also got one on this deal, and loves it

It has UK & Ireland and main roads in Europe preinstalled.

If your lucky and get the older V.8 Map instead of the new V.9 one, you can order a free Map Update DVD which has the whole of Europe.

Thanks Robot1000

Yes I read that you can get an upgrade but DOES THE UPGRADE have Finland and Sweden?

Just to let you know that I picked up one of these in Staples in Harlow today. I took their display model as it has V8 maps which can be upgraded (see earlier thread entries) but I know they have more in stock but with V9 maps.
My initial impressions are that this is a great unit.
I had a TomTom 910 and was very dissapointed with it for various silly reasons. This is as good at navigation, similar in size, better battery, has a better mount, better battery life and is fantastic value.

I would highly recommend this unit at this price.

PS, if anyone has an Audi TT, it fits PERFECTLY in the drop down ash tray making for a very neat installation.

Cheers

thanks guys - got the last one - which was a display model so 10% off - so 90 quid + it was a V8 I've now found out - so have ordered the free europe maps too :)

thanks very much, Mark.

Hi Guys

Can someone help with a question

Trying to get the FREE update dvd

However, all I can see is MetroGuide v8 CD/DVD.

Is this the one you guys got???????????????

If so when you send the form its asking me to enclose the rear insert sheet from the ORIGINAL METROGUIDE cd case for a European version?????????

I never got any cd when I bought the garmin from staples

Am I applying for the right update????????????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all who help
