Can someone explain why this is a bad deal? Looks really well spec'd for the money?

Wheres the catch?

Same here am confused too

It's an older model (this has the older Core 2 Duo with lower bus speed and worse power management) compared to the Dell Vostos that are on here which are not only better specc'ed but about the same price.

It /was/ a good deal a week ago. Not so much now. :)

Some reasons I wouldn't buy: 1) get the same for equal or less with Dell and get all the benefits of big corp. support etc (look under dell deals here first - not sure any 17" monitors though - and then check dell site and other dell offer sites for best current deals. No luck? Phone Dell, give them the spec of this product and explain tesco price and I'm pretty sure they'll beat it 2) centrino processor 3) gateway product... /

Dell Vostos cost more after VAT and they give you the Vista busniness edtition ONLY! obvious you get better spec the more you pay. Thats how it works for pc and laptop.

£611

17", 2Gb RAM, 160GB HDD, T7100 C2D, Geforce 8400 graphics.

£60 more, and worth it. If you can settle for a 15.4" screen the Vostro 1500 is even better.

£564, and again worth the extra £11.

Oh, and Vista Business is worth more than Home Premium. You could sell it and buy Home Premium if you're that bothered.
