WHAT'S occurring? Weve lined up a tidy offer which is totally lush.

With the economy getting everybody down in the dumps, The Sun is on a mission to Get Britain Laughing again.

Starting on Monday, April 27th until Saturday, May 2nd were giving away the complete first series of hit BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey on DVD for FREE.

they have to give this crap away now i still wouldnt want it

It's hardly free if you have to buy the odious "Sun" to get it. I would say having to buy the "Sun" really sinks this into a very, very cold deal indeed.

Watch the series for free next time they repeat it, which they do, endlessly it seems. Good series though.

first you say its c**p now you say its funny. But that's irrelevant as what we are commenting on is the DEAL not whether you like the series.

Not completely amazing as it sounds as though you only get 1 episode on each DVD and need to go into Tesco's every day to collect it (or pay £4.99 postage for the complete series on DVD). Good deal if you buy the Sun anyway or have a Tesco's near where you live/work, otherwise I'd probably just pay a bit more and buy the series if I wanted it.

If you have a Tesco near you then it's £5.20 cheaper than buying the series online...
#15
Will all Tescos stock the freebie? I.e there is a Metro store near me at work

Who doesn't have a Tesco near them these days...?

Agreed, but the wording of the offer sounds as though you need to take the voucher into Tesco every day to exchange for a DVD and just get a single episode each day. Maybe it's just badly worded and I read it wrong (although this is what they've seemed to do with previous DVD givaways) but it sounded too much of a bother to me.

If all you have to do is take the vouchers in and get the normal DVD set then I agree it's a great deal though. Even better if you buy the Sun anyway.

The Moderators of this site contribute absolutely nothing when they delete posts without explanation.

At least have the balls to tell people why you decided to delete half the posts in this thread that were posted for good reason.

Agreed, though we'll just wait for the mods to delete both our posts like they deleted the previous ones. Absolutely disgusting.

Mods we are breaking NO RULES by voicing our opinions. We are commenting on a deal. Anyone who's had a bad experience with a company have always been free to voice their opinions, well millions of people have a serious problem with the service this "company" provides.

To anyone who reads this and thinks it's irrelevant, it's not. You support this paper, even in it's most minor form by purchasing it, you support the evil and lies that it tells on a daily basis.

I'd just like to point out that supermarkets get very limited supplies of free dvd's. Don't be suprised if they don't have any left. So when they run out, you will have to pay the £4.99 postage costs, which means it will be the same price as buying it normally.

Open your eyes! You obviously know nothing about what was said about Liverpool fans at Hillsborough.

And yes, The S*n do spread nothing but lies, controversy and gossip, it's not a newspaper, may as well be called the Radio 1 Comic Book.

On the Wednesday following the disaster, Kelvin MacKenzie, then editor of The Sun, a British tabloid newspaper with national distribution owned by Rupert Murdoch, used the front page headline "THE TRUTH", with three sub-headlines: "Some fans picked pockets of victims"; "Some fans urinated on the brave cops"; "Some fans beat up PC giving kiss of life".

The story accompanying these headlines claimed that "drunken Liverpool fans viciously attacked rescue workers as they tried to revive victims" and "police officers, firemen and ambulance crew were punched, kicked and urinated upon". A quote, attributed to an unnamed policeman, claimed that "a dead girl had been abused" and that Liverpool fans "were openly urinating on us and the bodies of the dead". These allegations contradicted the reported behaviour of many Liverpool fans, who actively helped the security personnel to stretcher away a large number of victims and gave first aid to many injured.

right but this is a deal forum any slagging of anything is done in misc - this area is to support the deal

i agree with the above, but this is about cheap dvds not how bad the sun is, it still sells 4 million copies a day so this deal will benefit many
#31
The 96 dead were obviously innocent, and it was undoubtedly a tragedy. But you seem to be claiming that NO Liverpool fans misbehaved? Pretty bold statement.............(and irrelevant to this deal IMO)
#32
What the Sun said was disgusting I agree, but the crimes against comedy committed by Gavin and Stacey are at least as bad, and more topical...

I know exactly what was said by the sun for which they later issued a full page apology.

to call them evil is just laughable:?

Apology. HA!

Ex-Sun editor: I was right on Hillsborough

FORMER Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie yesterday revealed "I was not sorry then and I'm not sorry now" for the paper's infamous coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.

Speaking at a business lunch, he told more than 100 guests he had only apologised to the people of Liverpool because the newspaper's owner Rupert Murdoch had ordered him to.

And The Sun apologised in 2004. 15 years later!

The main villian is the scum Kelvin McKenzie
#37
says it all, ex sun editor

In January 2005, The Sun's managing editor Graham Dudman admitted the Hillsborough coverage was "the worst mistake in our history". He added: "What we did was a terrible mistake. It was a terrible, insensitive, horrible article, with a dreadful headline; but what we'd also say is: we have apologised for it, and the entire senior team here now is completely different from the team that put the paper out in 1989"
#38
they ahd loads in my tesco and i didnt even need the voucher just brught the sun and she gave me the dvd
#39

And of course none of the Liverpool fans are to blame for the disaster are they ? no of course not I mean all travelling to a game they knew was sold out, then pushing and shoving to get in. The Liverpool fans are all innocent, I blame the police.

If you lot don't want to buy the Sun then don't, I couldn't careless. Don't bore this forum with Hillsborough news, we get every year....

Now back to the deal, voted hot. Excellent series, not everyones cup of teas but certainly mine.
