Chinese tank and battery , tried them - no thanks . Always buy genuine now ,not worth the small saving when they last many months .
What are you on about?
The largest part of the market is designed and manufactured in China.
Kanger is one of the market leaders.
If its genuine ! Buy from a UK seller at least if you get a duff one you can return it . Cannot understand why folks buy from Chinese sellers to save a few quid , Bonkers oO . I do buy golf tees and other cheap stuff from china - but don't expect to have to return them .

so people are allowed to voice negative experiences about a company but not positive ones???
If you have had a bad experience with an establishment and you see other people interested many people will warn others of their bad experience. It's pathetic, the same people jump to conclusions when hearing one side of a story >.>
Already have hue Bridge would it complement? Seeing the hue strips are much more expensive..

Nice find OP not seen these before. You forgot to cost in a tube of adhesive/sealant for when they fall off as the sticky tape is useless! Bought some LED strips for the Kitchen and ended up buying additional sealant as they wouldn’t stick for more than five minutes. Plenty of threads on google for options on sticking these things down.

Agreed that the adhesive is pants, even those that are allegedly Scotch 3M. I used a staple gun in the end.

Just to warn people in here that I have recently ordered a couple of items from GearBest. One item was sent and was a different model number (cheaper version) from what was advertised on their website. The next item never turned up and after sending them an enquiry I was told that they do not have it and that they will therefore not be able to send it. They would have kept it all to themselves had it not been for me chasing it up a couple of months down the line. May be a bit of bad luck but two problems in two orders made me question ordering anything from them again.
Cue a load of people/paid shills saying "I've ordered hundreds of items from gearbest/banggood and have never had a problem.".

Lol, to like the service is a paid shill?

I've always had great service and deals with banggood. Gearbest on the other hand has only screwed up every single order I've ever made.
Just use paypal and get buyers protection, problem solved.

any idea if this works with the Amazon echo?
I don't think so :( Not seen anything for that, anyway.
vithya
is it easy to do it behind TV?
Shouldn't be much on a problem, depends how you want it. My strip is along the back of the desk, If you want it on the back of the TV itself it could be tricky to route it, but not impossible. You'd want to make sure the strip was nice and even, so it doesn't look patchy. You can get smaller strip kits so that you can have a couple top and bottom to make that issue go away.
This doesn't react to what's on the screen though does it?
It doesn't! I'm on the lookout for something similar to the Philips Amiblight system. There are some around but 1. They are expensive 2. The reviews don't seem too great. I have tried the Ambilight system and it is pretty good.
I looked into similar, addressable LED strips aren't too expensive, but then I thought about how I'd control them to work for all inputs etc. and gave up!
Yep same! Frustrating

Realistically need something with HDMI in/out that processes the signal and plug everything through that, maybe a raspberry pi? Got complicated though so I gave up!

I'm not sure I'd go with something from abroad personally just purely from a warranty aspect.

Indeed, and who knows what the keyboard layout will be...

Great price but doesn't come with Google services according to the Q&A. Shame really. A quick search on the xda website seems to indicate there's no way of installing the Playstore and Google services.
Good deal,good phone.
This works out cheaper than the Moto Z play edition they also sell on Gearbest. I'm having a hard time resisting buy!!

I was an early adopter of Ulefone; I have a discarded Be Pro in a drawer. It lasted 11mths before it was too painful and laggy to use (despite factory resets etc). Build quality was so-so, and promised Android updates never came.
In my opinion, Ulefone seem to develop a phone and instead of adding updates, improving, they move on to the next phone. Each phone seems to be the upgrade to the last. I decided I wouldn't buy the brand again.

Agreed, the products get rolled out so regularly that they are basically ditched as soon as they are launched.
I've got an UMI Plus E. It's UMI's latest phone, only been out about a month.
Performance and battery life are nowhere near what you'd expect from 6gb RAM and a 4000mAH battery. Camera is worse than the UMI Super which is older (and still wasn't great) and there is no news on the promised upgrade to Android 7. Also random wifi issues that can only be resolved by a reboot.
UMI announced the UMI Z before my Plus E had even shipped so I presume they are focused on getting that out of the door.

Very impressed with it, seems accurate and he loves it. plus for under £20 of he breaks or looses it I won't be too bothered.

I didn't bother with insurance.

I bought one of these and they are absolutely awesome. In accurate and battery lasts a day... Even less... About i hours. Although gear best did refund me as a good will gesture.
Makes no sense-maybe proofread before posting.

haha I wrote it on my phone quickly and hit send as I was just getting to bed. The autocorrect has a mind of it's own.

Anyway, I meant to say I bought one from gearbest, and it's very inaccurate and the battery lasts around 8 hours. When I say inaccurate, I was sitting in a meeting it it counted and it counted 300 steps. I walked just over 2 miles outside and then within my office and by the end of the day it sai dI had done 15 miles. Unless I had a dodgy one, the product simply isn't fit for purpose.

Bought these last time they were on sale during November. Not arrived and been told to wait till January 23rd before they Consider refunding me.
Always had an issue with gearbest, banggood have been pretty decent with shipping and solving issues.
But gearbest, This is the second time this has happened. Usually their low costing items don't turn up.
Patience, comes good to all in the end if you wait... Well it did this morn ,same as you ordered in November. On initial hearing sound good after break-in see how they go but have had rubbish for $2.99(£?)

Good phone, though I'd be wary buying from a non-UK buyer. These phones suffer with a very common fault resulting in vertical lines showing on the screen. It happened twice with mine within the first 6 months of ownership. Each time motorola replaced the screen.

I'd be worried that the fault would recur once the phone was out of warranty. You're legally entitled to a refund after ONE repair fails, if the fault was reported within 6 months of purchase. Motorola won't admit that though.

Hence the reason why I ebayed it after its second repair

Had this for about 6 months.
Be warned - yes the screen won't shatter, but it will scratch up like anything. Very very soft compared to gorilla glass. It's essentially just plastic. Mine looked awful very quickly. Wish I'd fitted a screen protector, but as the screen didn't feel particularly responsive in the first place I avoided it.
You can of course replace the top layer for £20 yourself if (when) the scratches bother you.
Which brings me to my second problem with this phone.
The shattershield lens is invariably out of stock and the only place you can buy a replacement is directly from Motorola. I waited months for it to be restocked, but finally gave up and sent my handset back.
Used to get bloody hot too...
Where did you buy the phone from? Did you get a refund without any problems?
Amazon.

And yeah... no trouble at all.

I'd really recommend paying a bit extra for the Edge 25 (and it probably won't be much extra - Aldi often have it in their sales). Whilst the Edge 200 is a good entry into GPS cycle computers, I reckon you'll soon find yourself wanting more. The 200 doesn't have an ANT+ sensor and so if you want to use a heart-rate monitor, or a speed or cadence sensor then they won't be compatible. The Edge 25 does have this compatibility.

From what I can determine this charges from USB so hopefully that wouldn't be a huge problem?

True however it does come with a plug to charge the unit using that USB lead so if was non uk would be inconvenient and should be highlighted especially considering how old this model is now too.

Yes it's a great bit of kit but showing it's age now in all fairness
Can't comment on the seller, but this is a great bit of kit. Had mine for 4 years cycling in all sorts of weather and its still going strong (though a little slower to pick up reception sometimes). Its getting to be a few years old now, but can recommend it.

And yes, it does charge through USB on your computer so no issues with power cables etc.

Your lucky they sent me a used broken drone - It had someone else's pic on the SD card that came with it.

And as u say customer service is terrible so not even worth bothering complaining.

As the mantra goes in the Fasttech ecig forums, f*** Gear Best - I just wish I had listened instead of finding out the hard way.

It's just another xxxxxx that's never bought from gearbest banggood etc but likes to **** them off because they read some bad reviews. I've been buying from China for years, never had a problem and always got the quality that I paid for. The only thing I had to complain about was getting ripped by UK vat and the courier adding a load on top just because they can.
Yes damned import duties and VAT, how on earth are we supposed to evade paying these criminal taxes that do nothing to help society? it's not like a courier is legally obligated to collect these taxes and failure to do so could cause them serious problems. :D

Really pleased with mine too. Got the 128Gb (£456) from O2 if you collect at store and order/pay online. Faster than the S7 Edge and fastest Android phone on Antutu Benchmarks and Youtube speed tests compared with Mate 9/S7 Edge/Pixel XL. Exactly the same hardware as the new Pixel XL (Snapdragon 821 and Adreno 530 GPU). Blazing fast. The only thing that beats it on benchmarks is the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. I had both the S7 Edge and OP3T over xmas and returned the S7 Edge. I'm not keen on Touchwiz UI. Still too much bloatware to slow the user experience down.

If you want a premium phone with a great design, fantastic camera, waterproof, sd card slot and the best screen (with no touch screen jankiness) then the S7E.
If you want a cheaper phone then this.

I agree with what your saying Finbaar but to give a more even argument, if you want a better UI, better fingerprint scanner, more RAM and cheaper, go for the OP3T.

English version? - that's surely a giveaway - I thought they were made in Pencoed, Wales!

I've bought Arduino boards from gearbest which proudly claimed "Made in Italy" but I took that to be a somewhat overly-accurate but understandable "Chinese copy"- I certainly couldn't tell my 意大利製造 from my 中國製造

They are made all over now including Japan officially, but I agree this is a knock off

I've bought Arduino boards from gearbest which proudly claimed "Made in Italy" but I took that to be a somewhat overly-accurate but understandable "Chinese copy"- I certainly couldn't tell my 意大利製造 from my 中國製造

Xiaomi YI 2K Action Camera (Free UK Shipping) £61.00 @ GearBest

Great little camera, won't get anything better for the money! Thought it'd be worth sharing as it was £85 everywhere else. Will be trying it out when I take it on a trip to Thailand in a few weeks :)

Like saying my old 14" portable tv is similar to my 40" flatscreen because I can watch tv on them both.
One is inferior to the other.
Take a look at the review and sample video then compare it to the GoPros sub £250
I agree tbh. I've owned the original yi camera.
And being an ex owner of a gopro hero 4 black. the difference in both cameras aren't that far off.
There's quality difference between the two of course, but it wasn't much to really beat up either camera. (gopro was a tad easier to use with its remote control distance etc, better wifi etc).
The gopro price points are really high, and don't always justify the quality difference between the two.
If I were to drop £60 on a really good action camera or £300 on gopro latest model. I'd personally pick the yi, as I know I barely used the gopro (ruined my ankle 3 weeks after buying it and sold it 4 months later) and the Yi camera was more than enough with its 720/120 setting (shame sound wasn't recorded at this setting).

WTF has the GoPro got to do with you doing in your ankle and then selling it ?

I didn't use the point that my ankle being injured effected my opinion of the camera.

Also, my words "as I know I barely used the gopro" and then explained why I didn't use the gopro. (Bought it to record sports, was Injured, couldn't use it to record my sports)

I just stated I owned a gopro for a short while and had sold it off because I injured myself. It's money better spent else where instead of it sitting in a draw.
With a couple of scripts (from dashcamtalk) you can get some incredible footage with this, it makes other generic Chinese cameras look like junk, shame the prices have gone up, was only £44 over a year ago.

I recommend 1080P 30 fps, 30mbps bitrate and enable 4gb files. Then tweak the rest as you see fit.

I take it you need to buy a waterproof housing for these?
Yeah, you can pick one up for £6 on Amazon:

Hubsan X4 H502E GPS 2.4G Drone from Gearbest -EU warehouse £62.32 @ Gearbest

This is cheaper from the EU than from China. 4CH 6-axis Gyro / 720P Camera / GPS Position / One Key to Return. Is this better than a Syma 5? Cold voters please suggest a better alternative for same…

Guys two of the prop screws don't fit properly. Looks like a recall.
Thats a shame.Where will you need to return it?
Apart from that the delivery seems quick enough.

Have the big bro of this one the h501c which is great fun. Good quad on offer here for the money. Have some heat.

For anyone who might be put off of drones after losing one - You can't lose this, if it goes out of range it will return to home.

I paid slightly under £10 for a 10000mAh xiaomi from gearbest (I confirmed it was genuine with the code on the xiaomi website). Not sure why this is getting heat.
Hmm agree, I would pay a little more for the 100000 and locally sourced. :(
Nice, slim and genuine Xiaomi, but like others I wouldn't buy this when I could get a decent UK-sourced and branded unit for the same kind of money and without the massive delivery delay or having to send it back to China in case of a problem.

if this is the version which has quickcharge then its hot, if not its cold

no quick charge

Still, 5000mah only, for a tenner, I'm not sure.
Most of them here including myself have got the 10000mAh one from Xiaomi for less then a tenner so you can understand the mindset behind. Another £2-3 more you get the 10000mAh now..

At 46p it's got to be worth a punt, even if you'll never use it.

Plastic bottle sucks out the yolk..

Just saw this on YouTube, I like that, that's awesome!
"...got to be worth a punt, even if you'll never use it." Somehow neatly sums up what's wrong with our consumer society!

The wife wasn't too pleased with the iron I got her last birthday, I hope this is more to her liking. Heat.

Am I missing something? What's difficult about separating the yolk from the white by just passing the yolk from one half of the egg shell to the other? This allows you to keep the white or yolk or both. Isn't it better to learn better kitchen skills?
Heat added for a cheap gadget though.
MattNorfolk
Not very good if you want to catch the white.
Try thinking, it separates the white from the yolk.
