Of course when you think of the XBOX, such games as HALO and Fable stick to mind although one of the most recognised is the Gears of War series.
The second one consists of a decent storyline which can only be understood fully if the first game has been played.
The game is not short by any means and takes time especially when setting the difficulty to the well-known 'insane' level.
Despite all of this, a fair amount of gameplay (like multiplayer) is similar to GOW 1 although 'EPIC games' have added new features and weapons which make the game that much better than the last one.
On-line play is impressive with many different modes to play although customization has not been a focus point of the game and teams consist of a maximum of 5.
Games can take a long time to start (as you start off by gathering members who want to play online before playing a match and then returning to the main menu) although game-play is fun to play, whatever your offline record.
One aspect that I enjoyed when playing GOW is the characters both on your side and the enemies. You unlock characters that you can play online but this does not give you any sort of perks.
People may think that GOW is just running and shooting although the story-line and the world that the game is set in, allows you to do more. The game takes some deal of thinking and strategy but more importantly, consists of various 'bosses' that create a unique battlefield experience.
For exmaple one moment you could be fighting a large number of enemies, the next you could be on a boat, racing down the river trying to defend the ship before then facing a giant monster trying to eat the ship!
In conclusion, the gameplay, graphics and online modes are very impressive although the way online battles are sorted need improving in my opinion in order to make online play quick, easy and enjoyable.
