Was in GameStation this afternoon in Stirling and picked up GOW2 for £24.99. Just reduced today, the bloke said.

Seems to be instore only at the moment as still showing as £39.99 on their website.

Here at Xbox hut, we specialize in the retail sale of import console games at competitive prices. We have been trading since 2004 and have been operating on the internet since 2007.Our staff are enthusiasts and are committed to upholding the core principles upon which this business operates.
We aim to provide competitive prices, under most circumstances we would expect that our prices would be lower than our competitors in a like-for-like comparison.
Because of our network of global distributors we can often offer imported games prior to their release in the US.

I'd rather pay the extra couple of quid for a genuine PAL version. Plus no waiting for delivery.

May just re-buy this. Completed it and sold it a while back intending to get it when price drops. Want it for online play which has been patched recently :)

No patch has been released yet although it's rumored to happen soon. The online play is still as bad as it was the day it was released sadly.

Gears of war 2 is cheaper than gears of war on that site, I don't like the look of it.

Good price, but this game left me cold. I actually received it on release day but it stayed sealed until last week due to a trip to NZ followed by Christmas etc and to be honest I wished I'd not broken the seal.

I enjoyed the first game cos it was fresh, but whether it's because I'm hooked on Fallout 3 / Rock Band / Dead Space / FIFA, Gears 2 just seems like a flat experience to me. I'm trying to like it, but games shouldn't be a chore and that's how it feels to me.

Plenty of others would disagree though, so once again, good price :)

I played this one first. Havent played the first one yet. I loved it! Was amazed by it. Great story, excellent gameplay. Though I agree it may be a bit easy as I completed it in 2 weeks which for me is just too fast!

That's the supposed matchmaking fix which Epic released shortly after the game released last year. They claimed it was to help speed up the matchmaking process but most people (myself included) didn't notice any difference and still wait between 5-20min for a game. As of today no major title update has been released to address the countless in game glitches, ridiculous lag and horribly unbalanced gameplay. Epic have even hinted that there would need to be several major patches in order to sort out all the games problems. The up coming patch will only sort a few of the most prominent glitches and nothing more.

Like I say the campaign is good if maybe a little on the short side at around just 6-7 hours. I was a massive fan of the first game and played the MP almost everyday for 2 years. However, I bought this sequel and was extremely disappointed by its MP. It was basically released unfinished in order for Epic to cash in on the Christmas sales.

As with the first title: Bought on launch, played it once, not looked at multiplayer.
It seems good but I always have something more interesting to play.

Not heard of that game, is it about a broken relationship or something??? :-D
#24
Has anyone else actually verified this price? Went into town to pick it up today but it was 29.99 and the store had heard nothing of a price reduction on it.

Are you trying to say I'm a liar?

All copies in Stirling stickered £24.99. Here's my receipt.

That doesn't look like a standard offer as they've done a price override, it's perhaps a specific offer to your store. It certainly isn't available at the Inverness brancg.

It's a price override as it's been priced up wrong. A you exclusive deal :)
