Just picked this up pre-owned...for those who do not know the 'Game Of The Year Edition' comes with every additional map and an add-on campaign chapter as downloadable content.

I asked the shop assistant about the extra content with it being pre-owned (as it's provided on a use once only 'scratch card' format) he checked then showed me the UNUSED card believe it or not!!

Upon checking at the till I also discovered that I had £2.50 on my Game Reward Card as well!

So I actually only paid £2.49...! (Thanks SkilledNutsack!) ;-)

BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY! :-)

I know I've kinda fell lucky here but it's worth checking your local GAME Store...well I think it is!

gears of war 2 goty is £8.99 at game and is out of stock! dont know where you got £4.99 delivered from?

If it's pre-owned the DLC codes will have been used. You may get lucky of course but no guarantees and really you could do with all the maps for multiplayer. If you're not fussed though then still a good price if it's genuine.

If it was £4.99 and you have £2.50 on your reward card how did you still end up paying £2.50???

You just said it - in this instance. The OP got lucky. You really think every used copy will have codes that haven't been used? Silly ****.

I picked up the Arcade deal at Asda - is this game worth picking up as I'm a First Person Shooter fan in general?

The original poster got extremely lucky like one in a million.
Anyone expecting to buy a used copy of Gears of war 2 game of the year edition for a fiver with an unused code in it should dream on.

Well I picked up a copy - they didn't have the GOTY edition but for 4.99 it's worth a shot anyway.

First impressions are that the graphics are very decent, however, actual gameplay is a bit on the slow side for me. Really find using the controller akin to walking through treacle compared to using a mouse and keyboard. (_;)

If there is a way to hook up a keyboard and mouse this would be infinitely more fun :D

Then again, I'm quite chuffed that I can watch video content from my PC on my USB stick as well as content via WMC.

The 360 is a great piece of kit but with one hand tied behind its back at the moment for me at least ;)

BTW - where is the SUBSCRIBE button on this new fangled format???? (bring the old one back!)

Yeah, it's much more slow paced than your typical FPS shooters like Call of Duty and Bad Company. I had a 6 month break from the game and after going back having played those mentioned games it felt very strange. It feels spot on though once you've played it for a length of time.

I had another go at it this evening - I'm on the section where you have to protect a convoy and to be very frank I'm almost bored shitless by the game now.

The pace is way too slow - the movie cut scenes annoy me and of I'm a grumpy old **** :D

And I can't stand this new bloody format of messaging on HUKD - time for a cuppa!

Last night I had a hell of a problem putting that message up here but apart from losing half of what I typed it appears to be OK now - although none of the emoticons are displayed - I also need to login everytime as well - anybody else noticing this?

Really? I dunno, thought the story was good. It's slow to start and the later acts are much better but horde mode and multiplayer are what really stand out in the game for me.

If cut scenes are annoying you press select (back) button to skip them.
