Would rather go for a HD 5570.

EDIT: Actually, scrap that. I didn't realise there was a low profile HD 5670 -

True but to be fair this card doesn't seem like it'd be able to handle tessellation (main thing of DX11) very well. Still given the choice a newer card with better features would be my choice (hence why I want 6870 rather than 5870) so heat added. For £50 it seems fine.

How would this compare to an ATO HD4850 ???, always used nvidia (8800GT) but looking to change and quite fancy the ATI range now !!

ATI 4850 is a bit more powerful. Not by much but its cheaper too since its older. You'll not get direct x 11 or 3D (if you wanted a 3D screen and glasses anyway) but it would be a good cheap option.
