Gelert Quick Pitch Elite - 2 Berth Tent:

The Quick Pitch Elite has evolved from the birth of the Quick Pitch Single Skinned tents that have been a great sucess over the past few years.

These tents have been used greatly at festivals and other short stay trips and are so easy to assemble and pitch, you will be complete in seconds.

The Quick Pitch Elite tent is very lightweight at only 1.45kg and has a hydrostatic head of 2000mm and has been stringently tested by Gelert's own Weather Checked system, which means that it is completely waterproof even in the heaviest downpours.

The Elite has poles built from fibreglass and bright guylines for increased visibility in the dark.

This all in one, quick pitching tent is perfect for 2 people camping from the back of a car or at a festival.

Disposable camping?:x:x
Organisers of Festivals complained last year that people just left these tents and all the rubbish within, so expect a hike in Festival camping prices this year to cover the costs of disposal.

Don't Adsa / Tesco do these sort of tents for about £5 nowadays?
#6
Is this tent double skinned?

If so is it one of those tents that comes in a circular carrier but with an extra outer flysheet?

Seems like a good price anyway.

£23.45 including p&p :?

Good price, however people should bear in mind that when folded down they are still quite large.

Therefore not good for backpacking or strapping to the back of the motorbike like I tend to do. It'd be like a sail on the bike :-D

if your in a car, all good!

And its single skin, wouldnt trust it if starts raining.
#10
Terrible tent, it's only single skinned so I wouldn't set foot in it. Voted cold because it's not worth a fiver let alone £19.99.
#11
It doesn't matter that it is single skin. It is only the nylon outer which keeps the rain out.
The inner is just a cotton/mesh compartment to keep the insects and vermin away.

Double skinned tents are warmer in windy conditions and less prone to leaking when it rains. If a rucksack etc is leaned against the outer shell it will start leaking and there is nothing more miserable than a draughty leaking tent in bad weather... it's not much better than not having one.

Of course if you just plan to use this at a festival on a warm summer night it will be fine... it will give you enough privacy for a ****, if you keep the noise down.

But please show some consideration and take it away with you when the festival is over, even if it's only worth £10. For some reason I suppose festival goers would be more inclined than most to give a toss about the environment.

You are misinformed unfortunately! With a Single skin tent there is a higher amount of condensation beause of lack of ventilation so the outside may keep you dry but the amount of condensation on the inside of the tent means that you still get a soaking. With a double skin tent there is more ventilation so you don't get soaked!

Bought one of these in wacky colours at the Gelert outlet for a fiver. Kids use it as a play tent.
It leaks water badly mainly through the floor wall join.
Worst part is that you need a degree in origami to try to fold it away!!!!! No wonder most folks leave them behind.
