General Purpose Compost 40 litres £1.99 @ Aldi

Seems to be quite expensive this year at B&Q and Homebase. More than £4 for 60 litres and that is if you buy three bags.

It' s a nice one, no big sticks or lumps in it and quite fine. It has some water retention stuff in it. I can see some perlite.

Not sure what size, but Poundstretcher have multi-purpose compost for under £2 (I paid under £1 but it was special offer bags)

This is Arthur J Bowers compost which is okay for mixing with soil to build it up but not much good for seeds and cuttings

Got a bag today and have to say the quality of the soil made it feel like it wasnt even worth £2 to be honest.

I will see what happens to my plants compared to a more expensive homebase bag that I used today as well.

Not hoping for much.

Got some compost from lidl £1.99 for 40 litres a few weeks back and I'm sure there were seeds in some, as some of my containers have shoots showing where i only planted plug plants. Thought it was a good price but my local nursery had better looking stuff at a cheaper price (75 ltr for £2.50)
