Not necessarily one for weight weenies, but a lovely 520 steel bike for all-year riding, commuting and touring. Great bike at a really great price.

Sora groupset is now excellent. A reliable, solid, easy-to-use and maintain setup.

enesis describe the Equilibrium as the ultimate 'one' bike:

Modern design and quality components make it ideal for sportives and Sunday rides.
Mudguard mounts and steel frame are great for winter weather.
A comfortable upright position is ideal for packing in the miles over long distances.
Finally the robust frame design makes it great for city commuting and family outings.

Reynolds 520 tubing provides a touch of the retro "steel is real" approach to bike design combined with modern features such as a slightly more upright riding position and bang up to date components to create the ideal combination of old school style and new features.

Steel is a highly underrated material. While it is slightly heavier than aluminium, it does have a lot of very desirable features. Steel is a softer material than aluminium which means it is more forgiving and more comfortable to ride. Because steel is stronger than aluminium it also means that tubing can be built thinner, providing a gorgeous retro look. Finally steel is slightly cheaper to buy than aluminium, which means the Geneses Equilibrium is very highly specc'd compared to some aluminium competitors.

Genesis are proving again and again that steel is not dead, and the Equilibrium 00 is no exception.

A full carbon fork provides improved comfort on the roads by helping to absorb vibrations from the road surface.

Shimano Sora gearing is smooth, efficient and reliable.

Full length mudguard compatibility makes the Equilibrium ideal for all weather riding.

Reynolds 520 butted cromoly tubing is made under license for Reynolds in Taiwan, allowing more people affordable access to bikes and frames made from tubing manufactured to the Reynolds exacting standards and high quality.

The Genesis Equilibrium steel road bike is available now at a great offer price only at Rutland Cycling online.

Steel frame under 10kg?
I had a 520 steel framed bike which was just a smidge over 10Kg. Seems perfectly reasonable.
Don't like the colour...............
