Also available with a 2GB MicroSD card for £13.99

If genuine than that's very good price. I've been paying about £18 for them.

Prefer these cards, although you have to update the firmware for them to work on the DSi.
#3
card of choice for me,

reasonable price and work great, do yourself a favour and buy a decent SD card instead of the unbranded crap they supply
#4
people are having issues with these cards with the very latest firmware :\ .. Great cards.. not aware of any 'fake' AK2i cards?

review from December 08 -

Im still on the fence, it would be great to have a good collection of games with me always, maybe some music and I love the idea of making my own skins, but part of me says no for the obvious reason....
#6
@ Leewom,

why don't you buy all the games. then d/l them for free and store them on your Acekard.

:p

I have an AK2 and find it very good. Better than R4 & M3Real

Will this work in the new DSi XL? Is there any difference (apart from the size obviously), between a DSi and a DSi XL?

Thanks in advance.

From what I've just read, it would seem it does/will mate... http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=9169

The Ak2i is an adapter so you can use a microSDHC card (up to 32GB) with your Nintendo DSi this allows you to store much more and allows you to benefit from all the following features

Taken from the product description on this webpage: http://www.r4i.co.uk/shop/ak2i/acekard-2i-card-for-dsids-ak2i/12949
#17
actually still to see if uk version will indeed ship with 1.4 or 1.5... that aid these cards can be updated.
#18
forget it if you've already updated your DSi to 1.4
#19
What firmware to these use? I've always had R4's in the past so I'm up-to-speed on those cards but do these use different software?
#20
do i need any software to put on the card before i put my games on it?

i have a dstt at the minute
#21
You would need to setup the memory card with the AK OS like you did for the DSTT.

I bought one of these for my gf and it's superb, will run pretty much anything that you throw at it with no messing around.

The PAL XL system may come with a new firmware revision on it to block these though so be careful of that.

Just got my XL order through from GAME and its running 1.4E
Gotta say it is nice........The larger size fits more comfortably in my largish man hands and the larger screens do have a wow factor. Only loaded up Brain Traing so far and the graphics look fine.

Ive ordered a R4i Revolution SDHC, fingers crossed its ok. (anyone know?) Currently using a Cyclo DS is my DS lite but they haven't cracked the DSi or XL and dont look to have any plans on doing so (shame as I paid of £40 a few years ago)

Hope that helps

Hiya.... i'm in process of hunting a Dsi for daughters birthday, she has the DS lite and an R4 card in that... as i now only use t'internet on a netbook can i still upload games, put onto this card etc to use in the DSi as my netbook doesn't have a disc drive???
Can the software needed for this card be downloaded and done all on my netbook???
Thankyou for any advance x
Was about to pay £36 for a card pre-loaded but if i can do it myself for much less on my netbook (did last one on desktop so will need some reminding how to do it all too...!!) i will save money to put towards DSi.....x

I have a R4 revolution (not R4I) and has worked fine for nearly a year. Also have a M3 card in another DS that's been running for about 18 months with no problems.

This is a great deal as the price is very reasonable - I would personally put a 4 or 8 gig micro sdhc in this rather than buy the 2gig one as in the post.

Re post above - same process for downloading games and transferring onto micro sd card that you have used before - simply drag and drop onto the sdhc from your C drive on the netbook (or wherever you save the files to).

Heated.

Yep, sure can - don't pay an extra £25 for something that will take you 2 minutes! (I'm assuming the netbook has a card reader??) Simply download software, extract and drag over to the micro sd card, add game files (as per my post above) and away you go! Bingo.
Not sure what you mean by the disc drive comment, but if you want to use the existing micro sd card you currently have in the DS lite, then you will need to delete the operating software from the card and then add the new software to use with this acekard. PM me if you get stuck.

whats the difference between this and other "non-genuine" acekards? If I get this and a memory card, is that all I need? thanks.
#29
never mind about the card is the shipper reliable?? They look dodgy..

How's this compare to other popular cards? I've been happy with my cycloDS although more and more it's running into issues playing a lot of the new games. Chrono Trigger won't play at all and the new Mario and Luigi RPG having issues. Anyone have experience with the Acekard?
#32
^^ yes, highly compatible and updates to loader all the time. Both games you mentioned work fine (not sure what Chrono Trigger won't as it's ancient)
#33
Would rather get an R4 clone for $5 delivered at DealExtreme's sister site
#34
Hi all,

Received my DSi XL today from Shopto.net. :)
My R4i Gold card, bought from dealextreme's sister site a few weeks back works fine, all games I've tested so far work 100%.
No idea how you check the firmware version tho!

Regards

No.

got a dsi recently and one of these cards to go with it for about £14 so its a great deal. i have read in a few forums that this card will work on dsi XL but im assuming that is only if it ships with 1.4 firmware. the most recently released big titles have some issues with working on the acekard though so now i guess im hanging around waitin for an update from the acekard guys!!

Really?

I know that rather anticipated title which launched just before Christmas worked only on the AK without any patching and needed to be fixed to run on any other card.

It's usually recommended to use that custom OS though as opposed to the official AK one as the compatibility and features are much better.

Received my R4i SDHC today but its a red cartridge and has the website R4iSDHC.com on it and the words "DS Happy Box". Is it a fake as I was under the impression the cartridge should be black and is linked to RSi-SDHC.com?

Purchased form memoryzoo.com

It works on my DSi XL but I dont want a copy/fake as Im sure there will be no future updates.

Acekard 2i - Anyone confirm this working on DSi XL yet?
