I picked up a few of these at my local Sainsburys earlier in Beeston, Nottingham. Thought they seemed like a good bargain for £1.00, handy to have in case for spares or to sell! Original Apple product also.

I saw them tonight, reduced from £3.99 to £1 (Shelf Edge)

NOT genuine apple, just 1A 5V USB adaptors.
Bigger/chunky and square.

Good price if you need one.

What number does it say on the back next to mA? It should be between 150 - 1200. Thanks.
#5

#6

Lol!

If you could charge your Macbook from one of these (they are USB by the way), we may just have an infinitely powered computer!

Is that the new mini iMacbook Apple are currently intending to release next year. Do you work as a Manager at Apple ?
#10
Well there are rumours about Apple introducing inductive charging tech...but I've never heard of anything like this!!!

Thanks, I bought the last 17 of these. Going to try another store tomorrow :)
#19
2 miles away sainsburys damn it
#20

That has been as low as £6.50 recently.

Although some people say they're fake.
#21
So, a Q to those who have bought them, can you confirm if they are genuine or fake ?
#22
There are so many fake apple accessories out there and it's hard to tell until you buy them whether they're genuine or not so i'd recommend just going direct to Apple if you want these things.

Fake. Change the misleading title

Online sites maybe but I severely doubt Sainsburys would be caught selling fake goods. Has Apple part number as reported by Op MB706B/B

Genuine just means compatible, they are NOT "official" apple products

I got a bag of Golden Delicious but i'm confused. How many apples do I have to plug my USB flash drive into to charge it?

I've tried 5 here but the light still hasn't come on.

The mods should remove this. These units are "genuine" the same way these units are (sold by Amazon.co.uk):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MB706B-USB-Power-Adapter/dp/B002FDGJNM/

And I'd suggest you read the reviews in the above link. Search for the word "fire" and "dangerous."
#28
why on earth would someone need 17 of these?

Lemme guess... as "gifts"

Then one day it went bang, the usb cable exploded out the bottom. Could have set fire to my bed if I hadn't been there to move my stuff away.

Somehow I think this particular user is a little eccentric/overzealous with their review.

These should clearly be marked as Third Party, as they didn't come out of the Apple factories, unless you can prove they're the same.

Even if they're exactly the same I would rather pay £6 for the GENUINE item that I know has been properly tested and is LESS LIKELY TO KILL MY FAMILY WHILST WE SLEEP or ELECTROCUTE A CHILD AFTER IT HAS EXPLODED AND THEY TOUCH IT

I presumed this post would have been spammed by now.

Just read the reviews on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B002FDGJNM/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0

"Beware!!!
Used mine for only the second time last night and it went off with a loud bang and tripped out my ring main.Unit was red hot when removed from the socket and had a very strong odour of burnt electronics. There was a flash mark left on my wall socket."

"I've had two of these little units short out on me. The second time quite dramatically with a loud bang. Left sooty marks all over the socket. Not sure apple have got this one right!"

"This product was great when I started using it as I used it for my phone and my ipod so it killed two birds with one stone. 1 week after I started using it, IT EXPLODED. It may have damaged my socket and the product blew into two pieces. My socket have now got a burn mark around where the product was."

"It's too bad!I would rather rate the item 0 star because it never worked, the only way to use was to throw it to the bin!"

Okay, I take it back. Sounds like the poster I quoted was right on the mark :P

If your that bothered about the product being a genuine Apple product, give Apple a call and discuss it with them!

Hmmm looks like I have identified the Wazuck that always emptys the shelves of Nottingham when a deal is posted. Hence never anything else left for anyone else in any Nottingham stores!

Oh it's a charger for an Apple thingy for £1, what is all this rubbish about genuine, fake, etc. It is £1 for Christ's sake. Honestly some people on here just need to get over themselves.

Because they are unsafe. That's what all the "rubbish" is about.

Do sainsbury sell these as genuine ?
#38
Like i said,if you have a problem with your purchase, take it up with Apple! or even Sainsbury's. I've been using mine, have no problems with it at all.

@ gazman321, ask Sainsbury's!

Take what up with Apple? These have nothing to do with Apple.

Do sainsbury sell these as genuine ?

they sell them as genuine .. NOT official.

it's marketing blurb for compatible.

search on ebay for Official charger and Genuine charger and see the massive difference in listings.

this is "genuinely" for an apple device ... but it is not an official adaptor made by Apple
