We wouldn't be without our George Foreman grill, but I would never buy one without the removable plates. I think it would be a nightmare to clean otherwise. The removable plates make all the difference in my opinion.

I have recommended the model above to my parents as I advised them not to get one if it didn't have the removable plates. The description from Amazon says it has a variable timer and 5 temperature settings but I can't see where this would be from the picture, so if you have this model perhaps you can confirm.

I replaced our first George Foreman grill with this one, I agree the first one was a pig to clean and they were not removable plates but these new one's seem to have the plates coated in a much better way to clean so end up never taking the plates off really, a quick going over with a damp tissue whilst still hot is the best way I've found to clean it.

I have this model and it has no controls at all, just on or off.
Still an excellent grill and I just switch off for a while if its getting a little hot.
Highly recommended.
Bought mine about a year ago when Amazon were doing them for about £23 thanks to HUKD.
Also I wouldn't even consider one of these if it didn't have the removable plates.

I have one with fixed plates and it is easy to clean. I've never found it necessary to soak them, so being fixed in position is not a problem.
